Term 3 and our elementary, middle, and high school conferences began this week. Conferences are an excellent opportunity to connect with your child(ren)’s teacher to review academic progress, growth, and to discuss expectations for the rest of the school year. Please reach out to your child(ren)’s school principal if you have any questions.
As many of you know, our district is seeking a 9 million dollar referendum on the Tuesday, April 2 ballot. As we have already begun having school and community sessions, please reach out to our district office (608) 361-4000 or access our 2024 Referendum webpage for accurate information and updated frequently asked questions (FAQs).
The weather is certainly much nicer and warmer than a few weeks ago. It feels more like March than the beginning of February. I encourage everyone to enjoy outdoor fun and activities this weekend and connect with family and friends. Take advantage of the 40-degree temperatures, enjoy some sunshine, and unplug.
In service,
Dr. Willie E. Garrison II
School District of Beloit Superintendent

Check out our enrollment webpage for more information or call us to enroll your student today at (608) 361-4171.
2024 April Referendum
The School District of Beloit has served students and families for years. Our district has been the educational home to generations of residents. We take pride in knowing that our community is filled with Purple Knights, carrying on the legacy and honor of doing so.
Our staff work hard and are committed to creating learning environments for all our students that are focused on academic achievement, student social and emotional well-being, and ensuring our graduates are career, college, and community ready.
During the 2022-2023 School Year:
- We listened to our families and reconfigured our schools into traditional 4K through 5th grade elementary schools, 6th through 8th grade middle schools, and 9th through 12th grade high schools.
- For the first time in several years, we maintained our enrollment. Our current student enrollment is 5,214 as of Friday, January 26, 2024.
- We saw growth and improvement on our state report cards.
- We balanced our budget for the 2023-2024 school year.
However, our district still faces significant financial challenges - largely related to the state's school funding system.
On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, residents will vote on an operational referendum question to address these challenges and ensure a bright future for our schools, staff, and the students we serve.
