We extended our deepest sympathy to both Puketapu and Merrilands Community with their recent loss of children at their respective schools. Our love and thoughts extend to their parents and extended Whanau.

We had a wonderful start to the week with the Official opening of "Captain Mack's Ship". We were very grateful the builders of Cookie Construction were able to come in and officially 'launch' the ship so to speak. It was great to have Mack's young girls (future students of IPS) assist with the opening. Many thanks again to our Parent Link and BoT members for providing funds for this fabulous addition to our playground.

Daniel, Charlie M and Torbin who are students in Puke Haupapa are undertaking a project to contribute to the Methanex Maths Fair coming up soon.

They have explained the process so far:

We got kebabs sticks and then we got the 3-D print connectors and then we connected them all together as we placed them into a shape to make a soccer ball. We were meant to be making it with paper but Mrs White suggested that the three of us use the 3D printer. It’s the Methanex Maths competition activity.

Welcome to Zane Baird who joined us this week at IPS.

We are delighted to announce Net Safe Session for all staff and parents coming to Inglewood. The Sessions for Staff will be NOW held on Thursday 27 August 3:30 - 4:30 and then All Parents 7-8pm. The sessions will take place at Inglewood High School. All members of our Inglewood Community and surrounding Early Childhoods and Schools are invited. Please mark this on the calendar.

Earlier this year, prior to lockdown, Tranzit Coachlines worked with their drivers to develop two
videos about school bus safety and appropriate student behaviour on the school bus.

These videos are to reassure parents and caregivers that the school bus is a safe way to travel to school and help eliminate any concerns they may have, especially when their child (who
maybe as young as 5 years old) uses the bus for the first time.

The first video talks about a student’s first school bus journey (“Staying Cool on the School Bus”) and the second video is about appropriate student behaviour on the school (“Best Bus Behaviour”).

We really appreciate the positive actions and great modelling by parents during drop off to school and pick up from school times. We are at the gate every morning and afternoon and really appreciate the positive chats and appropriate actions of pedestrians and drivers.

Thank you for waiting at the pedestrian crossing, while pedestrians cross in the cold winter weather. We really value the effort of the children who diligently undertake their responsibilities as Road Patrollers in all weather. We are also very grateful to the parents who assist us with Miro Street Crossings as well.

Please remember to notify the office if your child will be absent from school. Please state your name, child's name and reason for absence each day. The Ministry of Education treats all absences without a reason as truant.Thank you

Please lock these in as there will be NO ability to take students on these days.

The Government is considering an additional National Holiday, IF by chance one of our days is chosen, we will make another day for the Staff Only Day.

We still have some chocolate money to be returned to the office. Please return as soon as possible to enable credits to be popped on your school accounts. If the chocolates or money are not returned by Friday 7 August, $72 will be added to your accounts. We have a few more boxes left over if you would like anymore to sell. Thank you
