Drop Off/ Pick Up
DROP OFF
When dropping your student off for school in the morning, please follow the loop in the parking lot. Cones will close off specific areas of the parking lot to direct the flow of traffic. Please wait to drop your student off until you pull forward to the end of the loop. Highlands staff will be outside helping to direct parents and students. Students should exit vehicles from the sidewalk side only. Please keep one lane of traffic.
STUDENT EXPECTATIONS
Once students arrive to school, they will walk around the side of the building and head to the blacktop at the back of the building. Students are expected to stay on the blacktop until the bell rings.
PICK UP
Students will walk outside with their teacher and will be picked up at the end of the parking lot loop (same set up as drop off). Highlands staff will be outside helping to direct parents and students. Students/staff/parents are expected to use the cross walks. Please do not walk across the front of the pick up line or in between cars. Students will enter cars from the sidewalk side only.
Please remember that our primary goal is to keep all students safe.
Please do not drop off your students before 8:15am as we do not have supervision until 8:15am. When the bell rings at 3:15pm students are expected to leave campus and head home.

Art Auction Updates
Thank you Highlands families for showing up for your kiddos and our community! This year's art auction was an incredible success. Through your generous bidding, sponsorships, and donations, we raised $64,000. $10,000, brought in during the paddle raise, will go to teachers in area schools in need of extra funds for their classrooms (working directly with the Boise Public Schools Foundation to determine those most in need). Thank you all for helping our greater Boise schools community! At Highlands, the art auction funds are already providing continuing education for our teachers and renewing our Mystery Science program. These funds will also pay for our fabulous art teacher's salary, necessary art supplies, iReady, Scholastic, STEM supplies, RAZ-plus, and so much more. None of this would be possible without the time and talents given by our phenomenal art project parents, volunteers, donors and sponsors. THANK YOU! And thank you, families, for investing in our Highlands Elementary. The future looks even brighter for our kiddos because of your generous support. GO HUSKIES!!!
**As we wrap up the school year, raffle winners please pickup your raffle prize if you have not already done so or please confirm any reservations for your winnings. Thank you!!

Parent Survey
We appreciate your support and involvement in our students' education. As we close out the 2023-2024 school year, we love to be reflective in our goal of developing a responsive culture of learning in our building and community. One component of this is equipping our student's with academic language that helps foster student agency and efficacy. As a building wide focus, students and staff have learned and will continue to learn about Learner Dispositions. These are traits that "good learners" use to help them grapple with a concept and achieve understanding.
Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. We are aiming to have high participation with this survey to give us some valuable information. We appreciate your input, time, and feedback.
