Hello Pyle Families,

This week three of our panthers were recognized by the Belflower CouncilPTA for their Reflections Entries. Congratulations to Marlie Harris, Addyson Meas, and Isaiah Cube! Students received a goodie bag, a certificate, and were able to meet some of our BUSD Board Members. We are so grateful we were able to celebrate the talents of our students!

Next Friday, the Panther Pride Club invites students to join in the fun on our "Lucky to be a Panther Day." Students will still wear uniform pants but are welcome to wear green shirts and accessories to school. March 17, is also an early dismissal minimum day. School will be dismissed at 12:35 pm.

Ernie Pyle is a Title 1 school. Each year in the fall we host a title 1 meeting to share with families what this means. If you were not able to make it to this meeting the presentation is posted on ErniePyleElementary.org on the home page and you can access it by selecting the "Parent Meetings" button. Our Title 1 parent engagement policy is also located on our website under the parent's tab. We have a spring parent survey and we need your help. Please click here to take this survey. The school will be working to receive prizes for parents collectively taking the survey. If we have 200 responses the school will receive a free dress day and if we have 300 parents take the survey the whole school will get a popsicle party. Please help us by sharing your thoughts on our survey so that we can use that data to plan and make Ernie Pyle the best place to learn for all of us.

Hello Pyle Families. My name is Ms. Figueroa. I have a Bachelor's in Psychology from LMU and a Master's in Educational Counseling from National University. I have nine years of experience working as a substitute counselor for Paramount USD. I am a leader and team player who is always eager and willing to learn new skills. I pride myself on my dependability and my ability to work well with others. I am confident that I will be a great asset to Ernie Pyle. I am looking forward to helping students overcome barriers to both academic and social struggles.

Latino Family Literacy Project - Parent Workshop Classes

PTA will be hosting a movie night on Thursday, March 30 in the cafeteria. Please RSVP by March 24 for this free event. You may bring your own snacks or purchase snacks from the PTA.

Open enrollment for Kindergarten and TK is now open and will continue until the last day of school and will reopen in August when the school sites return from the summer break. A link for the TK application and enrollment for 2023-24 is available on the District website for parents/guardians.

All students have access in their Clever accounts to a program called Paper Tutoring. This program is for students in grades TK through 12 and it is completely free on-demand tutoring assistance. Please remind your students that this is available to them should they want or need any help on any assignments.
