We WON the Mizzou Homecoming Food Drive!!! Many elementary schools participated and Ridgeway prevailed thanks to all of your generous donations! We were competing for a Mizzou spirit parade which will include Golden Girls, cheerleaders, other athletes, and Truman the Tiger. Mizzou has scheduled our parade for Monday, October 9 at 9:30 am. I am aware that this is our EEE day and several kids are typically out of the building on Mondays. I advocated for several other dates, but Mizzou was unable to accommodate another date due to schedules of athletes/Truman/parade participants. You do have the option to keep your child at Ridgeway that day instead of attending EEE. Another option would be having them come to RWE and pick them up after the parade and transport them to EEE mid-morning. I realize these scenarios are not ideal, but please let us know if you’d like us to keep your child at school that day/you plan to pick up mid-morning.
Reminders:
- If you come to have lunch with your student, they are allowed to ask one other student to sit with them and their guest (if the grown up/guest allows).
- We are still missing the 4-page district field trip permission form for a good chunk of students. Below you’ll find an info page including a FAQ that the district sent out regarding this form. Please contact the front office if you need a new form.

Unit C
In our health class, we are learning about different diseases, including their causes and prevention methods. As part of our curriculum, students will be required to create a report on this subject in class.

Music with Ms. Meeds
What an amazing beginning of the year we have had in music. I am very excited to be back for another wonderful year of music making with the Ridgeway Rams.
Unit C has been doing a great job with reviewing last year's concepts and has been able to quickly jump into part-work. This is a challenging task and I am so pleased with how excitedly they have taken it on.
Unit B has been doing a fabulous job with singing, it is truly such a joy to listen to them sing. They have great control over their voices and always use their best singing voices. We have been playing lots of games and working hard to understand the difference between the heartbeat of a song versus the words of a song- tricky stuff!
Unit A has jumped into the year with joy and excitement! We have been playing many wonderful games, singing lots of songs and learning a lot! Unit A has learned all 5 of our M.U.S.I.C. rules (make good choices, use kind words, show respect, involve yourself, and care for our room and instruments.). And we have been having such a joyful time playing and exploring the music room together.
Unit C families, stay tuned for more information about recorders!
Sing-cerely,
Ms. Meeds
Ridgeway One Read
The Ridgeway One Read is just around the corner! For this special two week event (October 11-25), each family will receive a copy of the same book to read at home together. At school, there will be a daily question about the previous night’s reading and other fun activities to go along with novel. The reading will require about 10 minutes each night, and I am asking you to open your schedule to enjoy this special reading time with your children. The book will be revealed at school Wednesday, October 11! Each school day leading up to then, a new clue will be revealed as to what the book is; be checking the Ridgeway Twitter page (@RweRams) to guess along!
Thanks, Rebecca Munsterman Media Specialist

100 Year Celebration
Saturday, October 14
Our 100 Year Celebration on October 14th is quickly approaching! We would love to have some help with supplies and treats for the event. If you are willing and able, please sign up for anything you’d like to provide. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4AADA928A2FFC43-44358025-100year
On the event invitation is a RSVP link. Please take a moment to indicate how many people in your family plan to attend (if you’re attending).
You’ll also notice there are slots available to sign up to create a picture display board representing a decade of Ridgeway. We have several tubs of photos and artifacts separated out by decade. We would rather keep these things at school since many are quite old and fragile, so transporting them back and from between school and home may be hard on them. If you sign up for one of those spots, you would need to be willing to come to Ridgeway and work in the teachers’ lounge on this project. If you have any questions about the sign up or volunteer opportunities, please do not hesitate to reach out!
