As shared previously, the 4-H Council is providing a grant opportunity for 4-H Clubs and Independent 4-H members.

Cass County 4-H members have an opportunity to apply for a camp scholarship up to $200! The scholarship can be used for any Cass County 4-H Workshops, Nebraska 4-H Camps, or UNL Big Red Camps.

There are numerous 4-H Award Sponsor opportunities available for the 2020 Cass County Fair in the areas of Livestock Judging, Beef, Sheep, Goat, Horse, Small Animal, Modeling, Shooting Sports, Floriculture, and General Areas.

Contact the extension office if you would like to sponsor any of these awards. Sponsorship's are on a first come, first serve basis.

Celebrate Bake & Take this March with Nebraska Wheat! Bake & Take is a time to share the gift of wheat baked goods with family, friends and neighbors. Spend time baking together and then share a delicious treat with those you love.

Registration fee is $30 to attend. Lunch is included.

At the conclusion of this experience, participants will:

• Deepen their understanding of the Essential Elements
• Connect the Essential Elements to their current programming
• Be prepared to teach in the Essential Elements to adults in their communities

Please bring your Essential Elements curriculum packet from the Essential Elements session at January Training. If you do not have a copy, please contact Maria Walker (maria.walker@unl.edu) to secure one of the limited number of curriculum packets available for the price of $40 each.

Thanks to everyone who has volunteered as superintendents to fill "retirements". We are still looking for two more friendly face to lend a helping hand as our new Community Service Superintendent and Clothing Superintendent. Let the office know if you are interested in volunteering in this role!

Enrollment is open for the 2020 program year! Club members, club leaders, independent members, project leaders, and superintendents must re-enroll each year. Deadline to re-enroll is March 15!

To date 367 individuals have enrolled/re-enrolled:

• 306 youth and
• 61 volunteers.

KUDOS to the Dream Dogs Lego League Team! The group of 4-Hers put their STEAM skills into action in designing a Plexiglass pillar system for the pedestrian bridge in Omaha to help prevent possible suicides. They took 2nd place at the Lego League competition this weekend at SAC Air and Space Museum with the pillar system. They plan to meet with the Omaha Parks Department to discuss the Plexiglass pillar system. See the full story from KETV Channel 7 here:
