Happy Friday CECC Families!!
Hello Families!
Please remember that on Monday, January 16th, there is NO SCHOOL for all students due to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday.
Next week we have our dental clinic at CECC on Wednesday and Thursday. This week's tip sheet is called, "Dental Health for Babies and Young Children". Please check it out. Those families whose student will be in Kindergarten next school year will be required to provide proof of a dental exam prior to school starting. If you want to get a jump start on getting that completed, here is the form you will need to have the dentist filled out: https://www.isbe.net/Documents/dentalexamform20191022.pdf
Below our Important Dates at CECC section, there is a description about some fun events that will be happening soon at CECC for our students!
If you ever have any questions or concerns for me, you can call our office at 217-351-3881 or email me at prekoffice@u4sd.org.
Thanks and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

CECC Principal

Fun Events at CECC This Winter
January 27th and February 3rd: Literacy Lunch Bunch Event with the CU Kiwanis Club from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. This is an annual event that has not been held since February of 2020 due to Covid. Kiwanis Club provides our program an annual donation to go towards purchasing books for our students to keep. They also help fund this annual event by providing pizza, salad, ice cream, and drinks. Students attend with their families and everyone eats lunch, activities and books are shared. We are excited to be able to host this event again! Parents, you should be receiving an invitation about which Lunch Bunch event your child's class will be attending.
February 10th: The CU Symphony Guild will be here at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM to perform Musical Critters for our students.
February 13th: We will be inviting families to lunch, sharing some of our equity initiatives with families and inviting feedback/conversation on any barriers they are experiencing. We have also purchased the book, Every Little Thing, by Cedilla Marley, Bob Marley's daughter, and this will be distributed to all of our students along with an activity to do.
March 28th and 31st: Children's Discovery Museum from Normal brings their Museum in Motion program to CECC. Both dates are from 9-11 AM and 1-3 PM. Students will come in groups of 50 to work through stations in the gym.
