Greetings Patriot Families,

We had a fantastic Homecoming Week at The Creek! Our senior Volleyball players were honored on Thursday at home. Congratulations to Jada Caruthers, Skye Graham, and Aubrey Wilson! Our Softball team won a region game against Carver High School, 16-0! Our Chorus had a concert and sang the National Anthem to kick off our football game. And our football team won our homecoming game against Jackson High School, 46-14!

Congratulations are also in order for our September Teacher and Staff member of the month, Ms. Bradford-Hunt and Ms. Mia McDaniel. This week we will hold a very important Senior Parent meeting on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 6pm. Parents please make plans to attend this meeting.

The PSAT is coming up next month! Freshman and Sophomore students can take advantage of this opportunity free of charge as the fee has been waived. This national assessment is a key indicator for how your student is likely to perform on the SAT/ACT. All Junior students taking the PSAT will have the opportunity to quality for the National Merit Scholarship and the fee is $20. Additional information can be found in the flyer further down in this newsletter.

Please be sure students who are car riders are dropped off and picked up in the student lot. No cars are allowed in the front parking lot during arrival and dismissal times due to bus traffic.

Student Parking passes are available all year for $60 and should be displayed in the bottom corner of the driver's side windshield.

It's been a great Homecoming week at the Creek! We've dressed up like our favorite characters, had a showdown between bikers and surfers, donned our Barbie pink, and brought back fashion from our favorite decades.

An amazing group of SCHS students are putting together a celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month in September. To participate in this effort, please complete the sign-up form.

The 2024 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program nomination window is open from September 1 to November 1. Any high school senior may complete the application, provided they meet all program qualifications outlined by the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The student informational brochure includes information on the application criteria and the two required essays. The application, program criteria, and informational brochure are on the Excellence Recognitions USPS webpage. Applications are due by November 1 at 5:00 p.m.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to students in their final year of high school. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 35th class in 2023, the Foundation has provided over 6,750 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $81 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. The 2024 application will be available August 1-October 2, 2023, for students who will graduate during the 2023-2024 academic year.

The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.

• Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
• Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
• After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
