Happy Monday Nixon Community! Here are the updates and reminders for the week!
Needed Items for Our Clinic:
Did you know our clinic not only provides support for children when they are ill, take medication lose a tooth, or even simple bumps and cuts, but they also support children who might need a change of clothing for one reason or another. Many of our lent out clothing items have not been returned over the years, and now our supplies are dwindling, specifically pants! If you have gently used pants you'd like to donate to our clinic, please drop them off at the front office or send them up to school with your child. We always appreciate donations and will put all items to good use. Have questions? Feel free to call Ms. Alicia in the clinic for more information (319-558-2188).
Report Cards Go Live Today!
Just a reminder that you can view your child's report card starting TODAY online through our parent portal "Infinite Campus". Click on the link below to access the parent portal, and once in the portal, click on "Documents". If you have more than 1 child, you'll need to change between children by clicking on their name in the top right corner. If you have any questions, please reach out to our main office and Ms. Tracy can help you (319-558-2188).
Cold Weather Gear:
Don't forget to send your learners with their winter gear! We also recommend you write their names and/or initials on the tags of the items in case they are left behind or "lost". The Nixon Weather Guide (above) is to assist you in making decisions about what type of clothing/coats to send your children with each day. I hope this tool is helpful!
Keep Collecting Hy Vee Receipts:
We had a big push for receipts during the first semester, and we're planning another fun competition during the second semester, too! During our first competition, our school raised over $450 for our Nixon PTA. That money, combined with our next set of receipts, will be spent on items for classrooms, field trips, celebrations, and so much more! Be sure to keep saving those Hy Vee Receipts and send them to school with your children (now, or during the big competition!).
Important Dates: We have several important days coming up, so be sure to mark these on your calendar:
- January 17-31: Midyear Testing Window (all learners will participate in various assessments during this time)
- January 22 (TODAY!): Report Cards are available to view on Infinite Campus for Semester 1
- February 5: No School
- February 6: Nixon Night at Panera (See flyer below)
- February 14: Friendship Parties (afternoon parties)
