Practice Lockout Procedure 12/12
Lockout procedures are important to ensure the safety of students and staff if there are incidents involving law enforcement in close proximity with our campus. All entrances to school and classrooms are locked and instruction continues until surrounding areas are secure and safe.
Expectations for STUDENTS for winter sports
Hoots~Mental health supports for SHS
The HOOTS program, part of White Bird Clinic, will be in each Springfield school once a week for a free and confidential crisis clinic available to all students. The clinic contains a crisis worker and an EMT, who are able to provide short term counseling, crisis intervention, basic first aid and community referrals. They are in schools to provide extra support to students who are experiencing anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, difficulty meeting their basic needs, issues at school, at home, with friends or with family...and so much more! The clinic can connect students to services in the community, long term counseling and even get them signed up for OHP on site.
Anyone can access the clinic and we recommend students get connected through the counseling office at school. We will be at Springfield every Thursday from 8-11am when we return from Winter Break. HOOTS is supportive and non-judgmental, and up for talking about and supporting on pretty much anything!
Booster Club
The Booster Club is a group of parents and friends of the school who are interested in ALL student activities at SHS. We support ALL students and promote the interests of the school in general. We are looking for new members to join our team!
The Booster Club:
Supports all clubs, sports, and students at SHS
Provides fundraising opportunities for any student club or sport
Provides financial assistance to clubs, sports, and SHS activities through grants up to $500
Gives back 100% of the money we raise to the SHS community
How Can I Get Involved?
Become a Booster Club member! This is the easiest way to support your student and their activities.
Volunteer to work a 2-hour shift in the concession stand! Either answer a general call for volunteers or volunteer on behalf of your student’s club or sport.
Fill an open Booster board position and bring your fundraising ideas to the table!
Visit our website at https://www.shsboosters.net/ for more information, meeting schedules and membership opportunities!
Miller Outfitters (Clothing Boutique)
A big shout out to everyone who donated clothing to the clothing drive this past month - it was a huge success! As a result of our SHS community's generosity, we have opened a new and expanded clothing boutique in the cafeteria! Everything is free, and we hope that more students will be able to take advantage of the boutique in this more centralized location. We will continue to accept donations, from adults cleaning out their closets to students revamping their wardrobe. If you would prefer to donate online, you can find essentials such as deodorant, socks, underwear and sweatshirts on our Amazon wish list.
Continued donations will help keep our homegrown thrift boutique going! THANK YOU!
