Women's History Month
The origins of Women's History Month can be traced back to the very first "Women's History Week" which began on March 7, 1982. Since then, Congress passed various resolutions designating March as "Women's History Month" and requesting the President to proclaim March as such. Since 1995, presidents have issued proclamations designating March as "Women's History Month" to celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States as well as achievements made over the course of our history in a variety of fields.
