THANK YOU!
THANK YOU Strongsville for your support of Issue 68. Passing this renewal levy helps to maintain financial stability in our District for at least five years and continues to provide meaningful and impactful student opportunities. "This is not the end of a campaign, but marks the continuation of our daily efforts to do whatever it takes for our students and the community we serve,” said Dr. Cameron Ryba, Superintendent of Strongsville Schools.
60 Seconds with the Superintendent
Community partnerships are vital to the success of our District. Serpentini Chevrolet has been a significant supporter of SCS for a number of years. How are they continuing to contribute to the success of our students and programs? Click HERE for this week’s ‘60 Seconds’ episode to learn more about various ways their partnership is benefitting Strongsville City Schools.
2021-22 SCS DISTRICT OPERATING PROCEDURES
FEATURED “SCS JOB OF THE WEEK”
Strongsville City Schools are hiring for a number of different positions in our District. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic workers who are interested in being a part of the growth and development of Strongsville students. Our featured 'SCS Job of the Week' - Substitute Teachers across our District! Per recent state legislation, SCS will sponsor temporary Substitute Teacher licensure to individuals holding less than a bachelor's degree for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year. Ideal candidates are those with any post secondary coursework in the area of education or those with experience working with children in a group setting. Education majors who might be home on Winter Break are encouraged to apply, as well. Questions? Contact our Human Resources office at 440.572.7038 or 440.572.7037 or visit www.strongnet.org.

MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MS. CELIA JOYCE, SOCIAL WORKER AT SMS & SHS
Ms. Celia Joyce has been working in our District for two years as a Social Worker. Ms. Joyce works with students and families at both the middle school and high school. She earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Ohio University. Anyone in our District can reach out to Ms. Joyce (cjoyce@scsmustangs.org / 440.268.5588) if they have questions or are in need of services. She can help make connections to resources in the community and Cuyahoga County, including basic needs (utility assistance programs, food, clothing, supportive services, etc.).
“I love how creative, open-minded and self-aware Strongsville students are. It can be really uncomfortable to talk to someone you barely know about stress or problems you are facing. Many of the students are very willing to openly talk about what’s bothering them and work together to make a plan to overcome barriers and address their mental health needs,” said Ms. Joyce.
“Our District is very welcoming and passionate about helping students not only academically, but with their social-emotional needs. It makes my job easier to work as a team and support each other. I also love how much the school advocates for mental health support, positive behavior interventions, and making meaningful connections with the students. Lastly, shoutout to our District’s ASAP program because I am really grateful for the opportunity to work with them!”
Thank you Ms. Joyce for providing valuable support for our SMS and SHS students and their families! #WeAreStrongsville

ISSUE 68 - SCS RENEWAL LEVY - COMMUNITY FEEDBACK SURVEY
Tuesday's election and the passing of Issue 68, the SCS renewal levy, keeps our school district in excellent financial shape. We are committed to our focus of providing a premier experience for students in academics, athletics, and arts. This is not the end of a campaign, but the continuation of our daily efforts to do whatever it takes for our students and the community we serve.
In that spirit and our shared goal to always get better, we also recognize that 45% of our community was not in support of Issue 68. Whether you voted or not, if you were not in support of Issue 68, we want to hear and learn from you so that we can continue to work to earn your trust and support. Please consider taking a short anonymous survey - click HERE - to share your feedback. Your feedback will be utilized to define areas for growth and development of our District. This survey is for our Strongsville voters, so feel free to share it with other Strongsville residents that may wish to have their voices heard.
