Parent Newsletter: Week of December 11-15, 2023
Eagle Academy encourages academic excellence by integrating proven instructional methods with a challenging curriculum and high expectations. This combination provides every child with the foundation needed to achieve proficiency of Eagle Academy’s performance standards at each instructional level.
From the Principal's Desk
Greetings EACS Parents,
I hope you are just as excited about the upcoming events that our wonderful school is hosting. I look forward to seeing you all at each event. Please check out the informative information in this week's newsletter.
But first, EACS was recognized by Anchorage School district for having the most students attending school 90% or more in October. My greatest ask is to please remember that attendance matters! A missed school day (whether excused or unexcused) is a lost opportunity for students to learn. Daily attendance makes a huge difference in student academic achievement.
This holds true to arriving to school on time. When students arrive to school tardy, they miss the opportunity to gather composure and the first valuable minutes of instructional time. Tardiness is a disruption for the student and the rest of the class. Sanctions (required parent conference or detention) for chronic absences and tardiness will be implemented by me for the rest of the school year.
Why Attendance Matters
Let's continue be intentional everyday to ensure that our students arrive to school on time and ready to learn everyday! Eagles fly high and rise to the occasion! Let's close out 2023 with a bang and usher 2024 in measuring up to the standards and expectations of our school!
Your Principal,
Lynn Mills

Safety
Parents,
Your safety and the safety of our students and staff is of the upmost importance. When exiting your vehicle, at all times please use the cross walk. During pick up, obey the staff STOP sign. We want you to "Arrive live (and injury free) with a smart depart!"
Also, with the amount of snow that is stored in the parking lot, the driving areas are narrow. I have made the necessary contact for removal. Please be patient as this maintenance issue is resolved.

It is because of your hard work and dedication to our students, the school, and to each other that we are fueling our legacy. I am elated to be apart of such a wonderful group of educational professionals. Let's continue to soar to higher heights.
