STATE ASSESSMENT RESULTS ARE IN! (GRADES 3-6)
I AM SO PROUD OF OUR STUDENTS AND SCHOOL FOR THE SUCCESS ON STATE ASSESSMENTS THIS YEAR! As a school, Benninghoven percentages of students at benchmark increased in ALL grades, in BOTH READING AND MATH! This would not have been achieved without the dedication and support of all teachers in our building, or you all as families and a school community. THANK YOU!
Information for accessing student results in Grades 3-6 is below....
- Parents are able to access their child’s KAP scores online through the KITE Parent Portal.

Grade Level Teams for the 23-24 School Year
Families,
Below are the anticipated teams and grade level sections for the 23-24 school year. Throughout the summer and leading up to the start of the school year, enrollment can shift which can lead to changes. When offices open in again in late July/early August, I will send a "Welcome Back BH Family Newsletter" with any updates or changes!
WE HAVE AMAZING TEACHERS AND STAFF AT BH, and I am excited about our 23-24 Team!
23-24 School Supplies
Below is a printable file that includes each grade level supply list. These items can also be purchased as a bundle through PTA! See the information in the PTA section for details to order now.
NEW THIS YEAR- you will also see some optional "Wish Lists" for the Nurse, Specials, and Support Staff. These have been compiled for staff that do not roster a classroom, but meet student needs on a daily basis. If you would like to purchase any of the items on these lists, please label the item with the appropriate allocation (IE: Nurse, Art, Resource) so that we can get them to the right place!
Any student or family that needs financial support with supplies, please reach out to our Office Manager, Nicole Cunningham or Social Worker, Paula Pyle - and we will be happy to provide support!
Lists can also be found on the Benninghoven website at https://benninghoven.smsd.org/
News from your PTA
School Supply Order for 2023-2024
We know the start of the next school year is the last thing we want to think about right now, but just in case you are wanting to get a jump start on school supplies below is the link to follow to purchase your school toolbox. We are trying a new company this year for school toolboxes. All the supplies will be name brand and the PTA will get a $5 donation for every toolbox purchased. This is an easy way to donate to the PTA and get your school supplies delivered to your front door. As always thank you so much for your continued support!
Summer Learning Challenge
Benninghoven PTA wants to help keep the student's skills sharp and avoid the “summer slide.” Each student K-5 brought home summer learning packets on the last day of school (check those backpacks!) The packet will provide two ways to participate in the challenge this summer. Any student that completes the challenge will be invited to attend a Summer Learning Celebration with Kansas City Royals mascot Slugger when school resumes in the fall. Packets will be due on
Friday, August 25th. If you have any questions, please reach out to Courtney Bukovaz at cbukovaz@gmail.com.
PTA Opportunities for 2023-2024
We look forward to providing many of Benninghoven's annual events, programs, and activities for the 2023-2024 school year! Our goal as a PTA is to support the teachers, staff and students and foster community in our school.
This can only be accomplished with the help of MANY hands! We need your help this coming year. Whether you have a flexible schedule during the school day or need to do something that can be done on your own time, there's something for everyone! Also, if you're feeling hesitant or nervous, please be assured that it is a team effort and we are here to support you in your role.
If you have any questions or would like more details on events/programs or committee chair responsibilities, please contact Emily Brandjord at emilyhaake@gmail.com. You can see all the opportunities here.
