NUTRITION SERVICES UPDATE
Low Meal Balances
Many students have low or negative meal balances. Also, many of you still have not filled out a free/reduced meal application (it could save you money). Today is the day!
- Visit http://www.myschoolapps.com to see if you qualify for free/reduced meals and to fill out the application
- Pay your meal balances at www.myschoolbucks.com or download the app
- Send money with your student in their backpack. Please communicate with the teacher when you send it so they can look for it. Put a check or money in an envelope/zippy bag with their name on it and write “lunch money.” Checks should be made out to Ozark Schools.
BUILDING HIGHLIGHTS
67 New Members Inducted Into NHS
Last week, Ozark High School National Honor Society inducted 67 new members at the 2023-2024 Induction Ceremony! NHS is an organization for students in grades 10-12 that promotes leadership, service, character and scholarship. These students focus on academic achievement, community service, and are great models for other students at Ozark!
A Salute to Service
Ozark Junior High students took time during their Nov. 1 spirit assembly to honor all those who serve our country, with a special tribute to one staff member — Master Sergeant Nicola Mozingo, who is retiring from teaching and the military at the end of the school year.
Mozingo has been serving in the United States Air Force for 27 years, during which she has served in four separate tours of duty. She has also been teaching at OJH for 26 years, where she infused her love of country into her teaching by starting an after-school club that many years later would go on to become eighth grade JROTC.
College Campus Field Trip
This week, North Elementary second grade students took a field trip to College of the Ozarks where they learned about the college visited different places on campus. They visited a one-room schoolhouse, the Ralph S. Foster museum, 9/11 Memorial, Honor Lake, dairy farm, greenhouse, mill and stained glass shop. The highlight, however, was the baby cows!
Happy Halloween!
We had so much fun celebrating Halloween with our students at school on Tuesday and at after-school events last month. And our teachers and staff definitely got in on the fun! Check out our school Facebook and Instagram pages to see more fun photos of students and staff this year!

New Kids on the Block
The OHS Counseling Department hosted a "New Kids on the Block" party for new students. This event had new students mingling and talking with our Academy Ambassadors, members of the Kindness Club, and National Honor Society representatives. Students learned about the OHS culture including different options offered for students that might be of interest to them.
Our special guests (newer students) played some icebreaker games with new student hosts in order to meet some new people while having an activity to focus on in a welcoming session. Domino's Pizza generously provided this event with pizza for all students to enjoy. We proudly welcome our new OHS Tigers!
