Wood Elementary is LEADING and LEARNING.

As we bid farewell to November and usher in December, we’re thrilled to share the highlights of the past weeks at our wonderful school. Our Veterans Day program was a heartfelt tribute to the heroes in our community, honoring their service with gratitude and respect.

Additionally, our Fall Festival of Learning was a resounding success, showcasing the creativity and dedication of our students and educators as we shared games, STEM activities presented by the Midlands Reading Consortium, and a Literacy Bingo with so many great books as prizes. Kona Ice and popcorn provided a needed snack to fuel the fun. Thanks to our staff and our families for the continued support in making these events memorable for everyone.

As we head into the end of the second nine weeks, let’s celebrate the accomplishments of our students and look forward to a season of joy, learning, and community spirit!

November 27th- Students return to school

November 27th- Freddy's spirit night 5-8 PM (1309 Charleston Hwy); Chick-Fil-A order forms sent home

December 4th-12th-Holiday Shop (PTO): students are able to purchase items for their family members for minimal cost

December 5th-Chick Fil A biscuit order forms are due

December 6th- Early Release Day

December 8th-Chick Fil A biscuits delievered to students and sold in the car rider line

December 11th-Scaly Adventures coming for the whole school to enjoy

December 12th-Winter Concert 6PM

December 15th- Half Day of School (students are dismissed at 11:30)

December 18th-January 2nd-Winter Break

January 3rd- Students return to school

We will share information soon about our HOLIDAY GIVING TREE where you can help those students, senior citizens, and adults that are in need this holiday season.

We are selling biscuits as a PTO fundraiser. Forms will come home Monday with students for you to pre-order your biscuits. Forms are due back by December 5th with the money. No change will be issued so send the exact amount. Biscuits will also be sold in the car rider line near the bottom of the hill by the playground fence. They are $5 each. Complete the order form to ensure your child gets a biscuit. If you want one for yourself, see you in the car rider line December 8th!
