Cleveland STEM High School

September 22, 2023
Hello Cleveland Families!
We hope you and your family have enjoyed a great week. In this week's newsletter, you can learn about how you can access Echo, Cleveland's learning platform. Echo is similar to other programs you may be familiar with, such as Schoology, but is uniquely designed to support our approach to Project-Based Learning. You can use Echo to learn more about your student's coursework and monitor their grades. If you need support with Echo, please reach out to Logan Reichert at lmreichert@seattleschools.org.
Have a restful and restorative weekend!

Congratulations to Senior Layla Ismail - the 2023 Washington STEM Rising Star for the King County Region!
“Layla’s outspoken acknowledgement of societal inequities is sure to bring about positive change for Black women in STEM,” says Joe Donohoe, a Science and Career and Technical Education teacher at Cleveland High School. The Washington STEM Rising Star Awards recognize young women who explore STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) in ways that will support their education, career, personal development, and community. The awardees were nominated by their schools and selected in partnership with regional networks. They will receive a $500 stipend and will be celebrated at Washington STEM’s 2023 Summit luncheon.

Thank you again for reminding our student athletes that there is a whole community of supporters behind them, cheering them on!
