Dear Imlay Families,
A Message from Mrs. McCalley, Principal
Dear Imlay Families:
Welcome to the 2021-22 school year! I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer. I also hope you are relaxed, recharged and ready to start a new school year. I am so delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in education, and I look forward to working with you and your children.
All signs point an incredible and productive school year. Our skilled and devoted staff is already planning and preparing for your child(ren). Our enthusiastic office team is registering new families, ordering needed materials and updating student files. Our hard working and conscientious custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning the facility and putting furniture back in its original locations. And, our much-appreciated PTA is gearing up to welcome families, provide volunteer opportunities, and offer other exciting events and programs. We are indeed a joyous and caring community with the common goals of nurturing responsible, caring students and promoting high-level learning.
Currently we are planning our FULL return to school on Thursday, September 9th. This means that all students will come to school every day and we will resume our 8:05-2:35 school schedule, with early release on Wednesdays at 2:05. At this point all students and staff will be required to wear masks indoors and masks will be optional outdoors (recess). Information about arrival and dismissal will be coming in the next couple of weeks!
As we continue to work out all of the details I will share them here. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out - mccallje@hsd.k12.or.us . I am so excited to get our kids back on campus and engaged every day!
This year Imlay Elementary will be focusing on the theme, Growing Together! This theme focuses how we will continue to grow and learn as an Imlay community. One way we will grow together this year is by beginning the year with Welcome Conferences. These welcome conferences will be held with your child's teacher, the child and the family on September 7th and 8th. Sign ups will be coming for these conferences.
Important Dates:
NOW: Online registration open for Champions after school program
September 7 & 8th: Welcome Conferences for every student
September 7th: Popsicles on the Playground and School Supply Drop Off
September 9th: First day of school Kindergarten-6th grade
I know there are many questions about this upcoming school year and I will share what I know now! Please be watching for updates between now and the first day of school to answer further questions our community has!
Thank you for sharing your children with us!
Mrs. McCalley
