OLMP Catholic School

As we reflect on our year at OLMP, we are filled with enormous pride in our entire staff and student body. This has been a fantastic year of learning and growth. A big thank you goes out to our parent community for all of your support this past school year. We wish our students all the best through the remainder of the exam schedule.

We will be saying good-bye to some staff members and wish them well:

Mr. Ernst has accepted a transfer to St. Pat's.

Mr. Johnson has accepted a Principal position at OLPH School in Sherwood Park.

Mrs. Dueck has accepted a full time position at St. Pat's.

Mrs. Perreaux retired at the end of May.

Mrs. Burnstad is retiring at the end of this school year.

We thank them for their commitment to OLMP and wish them the best!

New for next school year, we welcome Mrs. Jaymie Reinhart into her new role as Assistant Principal. We also welcome teachers Mr. Curtis Skip and Mrs. Lindsay Sharek who is transferring from St. Pat's. Mrs. Sonya Power will join our team as an Educational Assistant and our new Secretary, Mrs. Shawna King will continue in her new role.

As we wrap this year up, we continue to plan for the 2023/24 school year. We can confirm that we will begin next year with staggered entry on the first two days of school next school year:

TUES/WED Sept. 5 & 6- Staggered start (half of each class/grade each day) Info. to follow in August.

THURSDAY Sept. 7- First full day with all students in the building.

This will allow staff more time to connect with students, adjust schedules and options and go over any new changes to our school year. More information about this and the school year startup will be sent towards the end of August.

Report card marks and comments will be available through PowerSchool for viewing on Wednesday, June 28th by the end of the day.

We will also send our last Smore of this school year on Wednesday, June 28th with any up-to-date news/reminders to share before our staff leave for Summer.

We wish you all a wonderful summer and look forward to welcoming you again in the Fall. God bless all of our families during summer break.

Students are reminded to return Textbooks to Library once they complete their exams to avoid charges on your PS account!

All Students!

Make sure your locks have been removed from your lockers before leaving for Summer. Our custodians will need to clean all lockers and if not removed, they will be cut off and you will need to re-purchase next year. ONLY school purchased locks are permitted.

Student Placement Letter 2023-2024-As we plan for next year, our professional staff will collaborate to best meet the needs of all students next school year. Please read the following letter outlining our rationale with this process. Please see attachment below.

Final ISP/RSP reviews are required before the end of the school year. These important documents are acknowledged through PowerSchool. If you have questions, please contact your child's homeroom teacher or Mrs. Froehler (grades 5-8) or Mrs. Reinhart (grades 9-12). Thank you for your continued support.

Dear Parents,

The parent notifications and PS access were turned off on June 16th for PowerSchool Updates as teachers work to complete year end report cards and comments. As a result, if you are set up to receive daily notifications, you will no longer be receiving these. Thanks in your advance for you support and understanding.

Due to exciting changes for the 23/24 school year, Transportation registration will open June 12, 2023, at 8 am. ALL eligible riders will need to re-register for next school year. We are pleased to inform you that OLMP Hockey Academy is on for grades 5-9 for the 2023-2024 school year! If your child is interested, please click on the link below to sign-up. Dear Parents:

Please take a moment and log into PowerSchool and complete your child’s EICS Demographic Confirmation Form for the year 2023-2024.

Alberta Education requires that we obtain a detailed update of student demographics on an annual basis. Funding they provide for your child’s education is conditional to us receiving these updates and making them part of the student’s record. We ask that you complete this form in PowerSchool by Thursday, June 1, 2023.

You can perform the following steps to access, review and submit the form:

1) Log into PowerSchool at https://powerschool.eics.ab.ca

2) For each of your students, complete any forms which have been assigned to them.

OLMP Office

• Our Athletics Team sign up sheets for the 2023-24 school year are up on the PE office door for all our Fall sports teams. If you are interested in trying out next year for; Gr. 7-12 X-Country Running, JH Boys/Girls Vball, SH Boys Vball, JH/SH Golf, Gr. 9-12 6 Aside Football or SH Curling then come down to the gym over the next week to sign up.

The EICS Board of Trustees approved the 2023/24 school year calendars at the February Board meeting. Both Camrose school calendars are attached below.
