Dear Valued Jean Massieu Academy Parents and Students,

July 21st 2020, Tarrant County Health Officials passed an order prohibiting all public ISD's and public Charter Schools from starting ON CAMPUS INSTRUCTION FOR ANY STUDENT before September 28th.

I understand this delay of online instruction causes a hardship for many, but officials with Tarrant county feel it is in the best interest of our students and staff to begin school with Distance/Remote Learning at home for the first few weeks of the new school year.

With that said, we are currently streamlining our JMA Distance/Remote Learning Framework for students to participate in Pre-k -12th grades from home. In addition we are revising our first day of school on our current calendar from August 17th to August 31st (online only) to better support online instruction.

During the weeks of Aug. 10-31st teachers will be:

• Planning all online assignments for students to complete online at home
• Receiving additional training on Google classroom
• Planning for on campus instruction and putting into place social distancing procedures for return to campus on Monday, September 28th
• Reaching out to parents via email with additional information
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to assist parents with online distance/remote instruction and offer structured simple schedules for students while learning at home

Please know that we have your child/children's learning and engagement as our number one priority during this transition time. We will continue to provide only the best resources, learning tools and instruction that we can to our students. There will be more information to come soon as we develop all of our plans to return to campus with face to face instruction with our students.
