Happy Thursday before a long weekend! We had lots of celebrations this week. Mr. David was announced as our 2022 Teacher of the Year! Five of our Teachers earned grants from TPSF, and we celebrated National Counselor Week and Mr. Moreno. This week's background features Mr. David, his parents, his wife via Zoom, and a number of TC's Staff Members as we surprised Mr. David with the announcement. We are so proud to celebrate Mr. David. As mentioned above, there were lots to celebrate this week as our 2022 Teacher of the Year from Tustin Connect, Mr. David, was announced. The Tustin Public School Foundations Prize Patrol visited both TC's K-8 and 9-12 campuses this week as they notified our teachers and students that we were awarded grants for 4 projects totaling nearly $8,000. The grants included microscopes for our high school labs (no more borrowing), professional cameras for our Digital Photography Elective, supplemental curriculum for our 7th-grade students, and access to Breakout Edu an innovative hands-on resource similar to Escape Rooms for classrooms. Exciting stuff and we are very appreciative of TPSF and the great work they do for our schools. Also, we showed some appreciation to our counselor, Mr. Moreno, as we recognized him and our two mental health professionals Mrs. Bullock and Ms. Skomsvold as part of Counselor Appreciation Week.

All in all a great week of celebrations. Remember that this is a short week so no school on Friday. We'll be back and better than ever on Monday.

Student Request - SORA books – Here is a link to the Google Doc that I would LOVE for you to send to your students so that we could get some suggestions and recommendations from them!!

COVID Home Testing Kits are still available to students who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, or who have any reason to believe they may have COVID-19. Please stop by either the K-8 or High School TC office if you would like a test.

The state has developed flyers in English and Spanish that explain when to test your child and what steps to take if you get a positive test result. More information can be found on the CDPH website.

As a reminder:

• There is no statewide testing mandate for students returning to school. While some school districts in California may implement local testing policies, the state is not requiring a documented negative test to return to the classroom. The CDPH says its efforts are intended to increase access to tests for K-12 students.

• There is no cost to families. The tests have been purchased by the California Department of Public Health with funds provided by the federal government to support testing in schools.

Guidance for Use of Face Masks

The CDPH has extended the requirement that masks be worn in all indoor public settings, irrespective of vaccine status, until February 15, 2022.
