From the Principal
Congratulations to the 5th Grade Band!!!
Our 5th Grade students did an amazing job last night during their first official performance. The hard work and grit our students have shown since August was evident. I know that Mrs. Lydigsen is very proud of each member. Remember, there is no early morning rehearsal next week, but students will be playing holiday-themed music around Munhall next Friday, December 20th.
CogAT Results
Results from the November CogAT assessment (3rd and 5th grade students) will be sent home via student backpack on Monday, December 16th.
Winter Break
This is a reminder that this year is a bit unique with our Winter Break schedule. Monday, January 6th is a School Improvement Day. Therefore, students do not return from Winter Break until Tuesday, January 7th. Enjoy the extra day!
Salvation Army Bell Ringing
Our Munhall Student Council will be ringing the Salvation Army bells at the Jewel-Osco on Kirk Road on Tuesday, December 17th from 5:00-7:00. If you’re in the area, please stop by and join in!
Horseshoe Reward Coming Soon….
As many of you know our students earn Horseshoes for exhibiting the Mustang Way—Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be a Problem Solver. Classrooms collect these horseshoes and students work toward a building-wide reward. Our next reward that we are working towards will be an In-School Snow Day.
We are not sure of the exact date that the students will reach their goal of 3000 Horseshoes, but we anticipate it will be Thursday, December 19th. When we reach our goal, an announcement will be made and an all school notification will be sent home. We are looking forward to SNOW much fun!!
Have a great weekend!
Jarrod Buxton, Principal
Found Bracelet
Giving Tree
As a reminder, all gifts need to be wrapped separately with the star affixed, and returned to the main office by December 16th!

Art News
Artsonia is the World's Largest Student Art Museum. Yet it's so much more than that! It's a free, safe, educational program designed to connect parents and families with their child's creative activities at school. New artwork from the Munhall Art Studio is currently being uploaded to the website! Permission slips were sent home during conferences. With these slips, you can activate your student's account online, if you have not done so already. A selection of artwork will be added to their account each year, so that you can really see their growth as an artist! Please email me with questions, comments, or if you did not receive a slip at kellsa.jontz@d303.org
