Volunteers Needed
Another great showing of support for our students this past Thursday! Let's keep it up!
Please look for a separate email from the lead Chaperone Sherry Curran each week for volunteering for the football games and contests opportunities to help with our fabulous band and color guard.

We are happy to announce that this year’s spring trip will be to Orlando, Florida! We will spend 5 days in the Disney and Universal Parks, as well as experience a recording studio session with a real Disney musician. Please read the trip letter for more information on this exciting opportunity! Students and parents wanting to go on this trip need to turn in the letter of intent and first payment by September 22, 2023.

1:45 Run through on the turf field in full heat uniform

3:00 Eat game meal in the cafeteria
4:00 Depart for PASADENA Veterans Memorial Stadium
6:00 Kickoff
~7:15 Halftime performance
~9:30 Return to CLHS
Private Lessons
There is no better music instruction than one on one with a professional on your instrument. We have a wonderful staff of private lesson instructors who are ready to help you make region band, area band, all state, or just get better and contribute more to the band program. If you are not already in lessons, please consider giving them a try and see if you find they make a difference. Students interested in private lessons need to fill out the form linked below and turn it in with a $25 enrollment fee to a band director.

Marching Uniform Update
Marching Uniform distribution is now complete! Everyone* should have their full marching uniform at home: black bibbers, shako, long-sleeved blue and gold top, and matching blue and gold shako wrap.
The students will keep their marching uniforms at home for the duration of marching season. Please keep the top and bibbers on a hanger so they don’t wrinkle. The shako wrap can be stored in the shako box. More detailed washing instructions/uniform care will be provided later once the band starts wearing the full uniforms regularly. The directors will announce when to start wearing the full uniform at games and contests. Everyone should try on the full uniform at home and report any issues by Tuesday.
*Some students needed alterations to their long-sleeved top - those will be back from the tailors this week.

September Booster Club Meeting

Who: All parentsThursday is our monthly band booster meeting. Please come out and participate in all the behind-the-scenes activities. We welcome your input on updates or missing info for our band website.

Who: All band and color guardThis one is an away game so ticketing is a little different. If the game is not listed at the below site, keep checking back as the week rolls on. Please be aware there is a clear bag policy and no cash will be accepted at the gate. Online tickets only.

When: Saturday, September 16th, 2023 10am-5pm
Where: Clear Lake High School

People ARE BUYING MATTRESSES in record retail numbers!
People will support our program if they know we are having this fundraiser - we need your help to spread the word! We are asking each family to please find 1-3 customers to help us meet our goal!

Share out the Mattress Fundraiser Survey Link
Continue to forward the Mattress Fundraiser Survey link that you received from your student to your extended network. This will help our program gauge the community's needs and interest for the fundraiser. Even if the people you send it to do not need a mattress, they can help us spread the word and build awareness within the community about our event.
25 completed surveys will count as the first mattress sale for the student and earn them $25
Marketing Material
- Distribute 10+ flyers to friends/family, fire and police departments, hotels, bed and breakfasts, retirement homes, etc. (places that may need mattresses)
- Hang marketing material around town
- Gas stations, coffee shops, and chiropractic/doctor offices, grocery stores, places of worship, local businesses, parents' work, and community cork boards
- Yellow Signs - put up in your front yard as a reminder to talk to your friends and family about the fundraiser
- Email the flyer from the band buzz notice to your friends/family/other contacts
Pre-Sales/Post-Sales

CLHS hosting US Bands Contest
When: Saturday, September 30th, 2023 All Day
Where: Challenger Columbia Stadium
Who: All family membersLeave your calendar open and be on the lookout for info and volunteer opportunities for the US Bands Contest. Clear Lake High School is hosting and we'll need all kinds of help throughout the day to make sure things run smooth. The volunteer request will be separate from the football request.
