Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Virtual Seminar Experience
- Make a game plan. Once the virtual platform is launched on Sunday, July 11, you'll have an opportunity to scan the sessions and select the ones that are most relevant to your learning. But don't overload yourself with back-to-back sessions as the session recordings will be available on demand for 30 days following the Seminar.
- Switch up your surroundings. Consider moving to a different location away from your normal work space, perhaps a conference room or a library. Staying at your desk will tempt you to multi-task (answering emails or returning phone calls) while trying to participate in the Seminar.
- Minimize distractions. Close out other apps on your computer so that you are less apt to return messages or check email. Block out your calendar so that co-workers don't schedule meetings at the same time.
- Stand, sit, repeat. Sitting for long periods of time can increase your fatigue and reduce your concentration. Take breaks by standing, going for a quick walk or grabbing a cup of coffee.
- Get social. Carve out some time to check the 2021 Seminar Twitter and Facebook pages to see what your colleagues are reacting to. Join in the conversation to add your thoughts.
