Welcome Back!
We hope that everyone had a fun and relaxing summer break. While we are not looking forward to the end of long summer days, we are so excited to welcome your student back into our school buildings. The halls are just not the same without the laughing of your kids. We want to make sure that you have all the information you need to start the school year, so please take a look at the reminders below.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ - VACCINE EXCLUSION
All students in Framingham need to be fully vaccinated. On November 1, 2023, any student who is not fully vaccinated, or on a catch-up schedule, will not be allowed to attend school. If this pertains to your student, a notice has already been sent to your email. If you are unsure if this applies to you or you have an exemption, please reach out to your student's pediatrician or your school nurse. COVID and Flu vaccines are NOT required, although, they are recommended.
City of Framingham Childhood Vaccine Clinics
If your child is in need of their vaccinations prior to the exclusion date, and you don't have a pediatrician, please make an appointment with the Framingham Board of Health. Your child can get all required vaccinations for free. Clinics will be held on Tuesdays from 2pm-6pm and Thursdays from 7:30am-11:30am. Click on the link below to schedule an appointment.
Does your child need medication during the school day?
At the start of every year, we need a NEW medication order from your child's pediatrician. Once you have the order, you will need to drop off the medication with the school nurse. Please remember that you CANNOT send the medication with your child on the school bus. All medication must be dropped off by an adult. This also includes inhalers or epi-pens. Please reach out to your school nurse if you have any questions.
My Kid is Sick. Now What?
Please keep your child home if they are sick. Children who are sick do not do well in school. They need to be home resting. Here are some reasons to keep your student home.
- Fever over 100.0
- Nausea or Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Coughing, not related to asthma
- Cannot stay awake
Please call your school nurse if you are unsure if you should send your student to school.
Over the Counter Medication Permission Form
The school physician for Framingham Public Schools, with the approval of the School Committee, and in compliance with Massachusetts Department of Public Health Regulations (105 CMR 210.00) has authorized the district’s school nurses to administer over-the counter medications during the school day. These medication cannot be given without your written consent so please click the button below and fill out one form for each student.
