Summer Library Round-Up
Update from our Nutritional Services
In School Year 2022-2023, all students will receive one free reimbursable breakfast and one free reimbursable lunch at school. The State of Vermont has provided money to do this for one year through the Universal School Meals Act. Extra meal items and a la carte items, including milk, are not part of the USDA Free & Reduced meal programs. If your student brings lunch from home and wishes to purchase milk, the cost is $.50. Extra meal items and a la carte items may not be charged; a student must have funds in their account or pay cash at the register.
We need your help to keep providing free meals to all students in future years. Please fill out thisapplication for free and reduced price school meals. You may also complete the application online in MySchoolApps if your student was previously enrolled in the district. If many families fill out and return this form, we will get more money from the federal government for free school meals now and in the future. We will also get more money for other school programs. Filling out this form also helps our community provide free summer meals to all kids.
Required Annual Student Update for 2022-23
Get started today! Please register your student for the 2022-2023 School Year by completing the Annual Student Update forms before August 17. These forms provide the District with updated contact, medical, and transportation information, for the health and safety of our students. To complete your Annual Student Update, please log into the SBSD PowerSchool Parent Portal, click Forms, then click "Welcome! New Registrations and Annual Student Updates Start Here..." to get started. If you have questions or need assistance with this process, please contact your school/program directly.
Here are final stats from our short three hour mornings:
843 people visited over the summer - an average of 94 people each three-hour day!
1158 books were checked out over the 9 weeks - an average of 129 books each day!
Many thanks to Cara Johnson for greeting guests and checking out so many books!! Thanks also to Orchard's PTO for supporting Summer Library over the years.
See you soon,
