Presidents Message
Hello everyone,
The cooler weather is starting to come in and it's time for sweaters. who am I kidding? I gotta go where it's warm, lol. I am still looking for the next tiki bar and thankfully, Doc and I will be heading to MOTM in just a few weeks.
We had a lot of fun with the Susan G Komen cheering station in Philadelphia, it was a great time, complete with a Tiki Bar and great music thanks to a few of our members, Tiki Mike and Michelle. Thank you to all of our members who came out on that chilly day, Deb, Gail and Tony, myself and Doc, Jennifer and Brian, Tiki Mike and Michelle, Scott and Jenny and Ray. Thanks to Georgi and Karen for donating water. It really is rewarding and I hope more of our members can experience this fabulous day next year. A 60 mile walk is an amazing achievement and we are so happy to be there to cheer them on.
Doc and I also attended the Buddy Walk for Down syndrome at Villanova University that same weekend. Thank you to all our members who generously donated to the walk. Our members donated $250 and WE helped get Team Michael Paul Maguire to goal, way to go Phinz!
Next up is the Cheese steak fest, there is information for tickets on our website calendar and several emails have been sent out, if you are interested in going, please take a look and let's coordinate whoever is planning to attend, so everyone can meet up. This is the first annual and I hope that we can make it next year.
Elections are coming up soon and there are two offices up for election, President and VP of events planning. I hope that you will consider putting your hat in the ring and decide to run, it's a fabulous way to give back and a great way to make an impact on how our club grows and moves forward. Keep watching your emails for elections news, this email will be time sensitive, so please return it asap.
MOTM is from 11-4 to 11-7 and there are 19 of us going, awesome. Attendees, look for an email from me so that we can meet up for a drink and a picture. I'm looking forward to seeing you down island. If you have a Philly Phinz shirt, please bring it with you. Jimmy Buffett and the CR's are performing at the Casa, Thursday at 8 PM.
I am still selling $10 Philly Phinz hats, if anyone wants one, please let me know and I can get it to you as soon as possible.
Our website has been revamped and it looks fabulous. A big Thank you to John Sullivan for putting it together for us. If you haven't visited the site for a while, go check it out. www.phillyphinz.org
Our holiday party is Saturday, Dec. 5th from 7:00 to 11:00pm at PJ Whelihan's in Blue Bell, Pa. Beg, Borrow and Steel will be playing for us and there will be a nice buffet. Cash bar. Raffles and 50/50's, too. Cost is $30 per person, look for your email to sign up! We will also be helping a needy family again and also collecting wet and dry cat and dog food in unopened containers for Philadoptables and the shelter. You can bring the gifts and food to the party.
Several of our club members are attending the NYE concert for Jimmy Buffett and the CR's on 12/31, that is going to be a fabulous time. He hasn't done a NYE show in a long time in the USA. I believe there may still be tickets available, so go to ticketmaster and check it out if you are interested. One of the local clubs is running a bus trip and you may be able to get on that bus if interested.
Don't forget about One Particular Phlocking, next year's event is 4-29 to 5-1 and it's fairly close at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in the Allentown
area. Performers so far are: Scott Kirby and Dave Edmitsen, Don Middlebrook, Will Kimbrough, Jim Morris, Jerry Diaz and Hannah's reef and The Boat Drunks. Our local band, Beg, Borrow and Steel will also be there. Wow, what a weekend of music. If you would like to donate a raffle to the event, please reach out to Jeanie or Joanna. Thanks. To register go to www.oneparticularphlocking.com!
Cheers,

PHILLY PHINZ IS COLLECTING!
On behalf of Philadoptables here is the current promotion for the nations largest philanthropic collection of food for the needy.
Hi Everyone!
We are ready to get down to the business
of feeding hungry pets in need. This year let’s think
BUILDING COMMUNITY! The food drive is about people helping
people and we need every one of you to make this year a
success! We are looking to find companies, schools,
businesses, neighborhoods, scout groups, etc to run pet food
drives of their own during October or November. We can
provide a letter about the food drive and our Treasury
certificate showing Philadoptables non-profit status to get
the ball rolling. We can also help with posters and
transportation of the donated items!
Please reach out toyour contacts in the community and let’s identify some
locations! Can you help? Message us at info@philadoptables.org!
The club also will be collecting non-perishable food for Philabundance for Camp Out For Hunger at XFINITY LIVE. Come volunteer for Philly Phinz.

Holiday Sharing
Philly Phinz is helping the same family again this year. The foster mother takes care of two little girls and receives no government assistance because of custody issues or restrictions.
Last year our members were very generous in contributions. If you are planning on purchasing something, we thank you!
Please contact our club treasurer, - ReginaVMinnucci@gmail.com so she can make suggestions and advise on sizes and she'll mark items off the list. These kids do not have much and they really need us.

Let your friends know what you are doing, many may want to help and can donate to this needy cause.

Serve the Homeless of "MY Brother's Place"
Volunteers prepare, serve, and share an evening meal with the men of the shelter four to five times a week. Shelter dinners are great community-building opportunities: showing care, love and respect for our shelter guests who in turn welcome the volunteers into their home. Volunteers enjoy an opportunity for service and a meal with some really interesting dinner companions. All volunteers must be over the age of 14. Maximum group size of 12.
