Our Literacy Coaches have worked hard to bring a virtual event to the families in our District, in place of their annual Family Literacy Nights. Mr. Owens, SCS Elementary Literacy Coach, joins this week’s episode to give students and families a preview of the “Choose Your Own Adventure” experience that has been created by teachers and staff in our District. Click HERE for this week’s ‘60 Seconds’ episode (Episode #200!). And be sure to click HERE to be transported to the “high seas” on a pirate adventure!
SCS RESPONSIBLE RESTART COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE
Our District has created the SCS Responsible Restart Comprehensive Guide - one document in one location outlining our District’s policies and procedures. This document should be used as a guide, allowing you to quickly find answers to your questions. The guide can also be found at www.strongnet.org/restart.
As we have seen throughout the pandemic, factors can change on a daily basis and this Guide will remain adjustable and flexible to respond to state and local health guidelines.
‘RIGHT AT SCHOOL’ TO OFFER BEFORE- & AFTER-SCHOOL CARE IN OUR DISTRICT FOR 2021-22
At last evening’s Board of Education Meeting, our Board Members unanimously approved a partnership agreement with the nationally recognized school enrichment provider, Right At School, to provide before- and after-school care for elementary students this fall. Right at School will be offering before- and after-school care every weekday (Monday-Friday) at each of the elementary school buildings in our District, beginning in August, 2021. Two Parent Forums are scheduled on Wednesday, April 21st to provide additional information about the programs being offered for SCS families. The virtual events will be at 10:00am and 6:30pm on 4/21. Here are the links to the Zoom Meetings: 10:00am event / 6:30pm event

MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. HALLIE MALLOY, BUILDING SECRETARY AT STRONGSVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL
Mrs. Hallie Malloy is in her first year as the Building Secretary for Strongsville Middle School. Before arriving in our District, Mrs. Malloy worked for several years in a medical office setting, gaining experience in administrative support.
“I love being a Strongsville Mustang. Everyone I've encountered throughout the district has been so helpful and welcoming to me. I see the dedication to the education and well being of our students on a daily basis from every staff member. I love that no two days are the same here at the middle school and it's so wonderful having the students back in the building full time. The strong leadership of our principal and assistant principals, Mrs. Boytim, Mrs. Bailey, and Mrs. Peters, is inspiring and it's a joy to work with them. My coworkers here at SMS work together really well as a team and have made me feel like this is exactly where I belong,” said Mrs. Malloy.
Thank you Mrs. Malloy for being part of a great staff at Strongsville Middle School! #WeAreStrongsville
