ORCA UPDATE
January 26
Dear Inlet View Parents, guardians, and students.
I hope this newsletter finds you and your families well. The cold temperatures seem to increase as the day goes on. Brrrrr. Here at school, we're pleased to see students wearing appropriate winter gear, masks included, and being able to enjoy recess and movement breaks with their classmates.
Today's update refers to the communication all ASD families received yesterday regarding all students in grades 3-6 returning to in person learning. I want to take a few minutes to clarify the message, in case of any confusion that this might have caused.
Last Friday, January 15, all families in Mr. Stanton's class were notified that their third graders were welcome to start in person school on Monday, February 1st. This was a decision made in conjunction with the classroom teacher, the mitigation team, ASD Elementary Division and myself.
Yesterday, ASD supperintent Dr. Bishop, communicated that all students in grades 3-6 will start in person school on Monday, February 8th. Although these two messages could have created confusion, we would like to clarify that Inlet View will welcome 3rd graders on Feb 1st and 4th-6th graders on Feb 8th.
Bringing third grades a week earlier than ASD's announcement will allow third grade students to get familiar with the mitigation plan, procedures, protocols, and especially because this is their first time in the intermediate hallway before the "bigger" kids come back to in person.
Here are the three main practices that we ALWAYS follow while at school grounds.
- Wear masks
- Wash hands/Use hand sanitizer
- Stay Physically Distant
Mrs. Mendoza, Mr. Campbell, and Ms. Park will do the same with their classes on Feb 5th
We look forward to completing our school family on Feb 1st and Feb 8th.
Thank you for your trust in us!
