District 103

Celebrating Success

Daniel Wright Orchestra: Members of the eighth-grade orchestra played their favorite musical pieces for the Board.

Retiree Dawn Ripoli: Dawn Ripoli was recognized by the Board for her 25 years of service in District 103. She retired in August 2023.

Bus Driver Appreciation Week: The Board recognized bus drivers as part of School Bus Drivers' Appreciation Day, which falls during National School Bus Safety Week.

Principal Appreciation Week: The Board recognized principals as part of the Illinois Principals Association’s Principal Appreciation Week, which celebrated principals this week.

Preliminary Tax Levy

The Board reviewed the 2023 preliminary tax levy of $37,510,000. The preliminary levy assumes an increase of 5 percent over last year’s levy based on the Consumer Price Index plus new growth. A tentative tax levy will be discussed at the November 1, Board meeting. A public hearing for the final levy followed by a board vote for approval will occur at the Tuesday, November 14, Board meeting.

Facility Matrix Review

The Board reviewed facility projects for the current school year as well as the 2024-2025 school year. Projects are focused on building infrastructure such as boiler replacement, air quality improvement, and security system enhancements.
