Reason 1: You entered the password incorrectly 6 times.

• Always use a password that is easy for you to remember, but would be difficult for anyone else to use.

REMINDER:

• Never give your password to someone else.
• Do not write down your password and leave it in a location that cannot be locked.

Reason 2: You recently updated your EAD password, but did not update your password manager.

• You should type in your password each time you need to sign in using your EAD username or district email and password.
• However, if you are going to use a saved password feature such as the Google Password Manager for your district account, remember to update your password when prompted.

REMINDER: All district teachers, students, and staff should be signing into Dallas ISD Portal to access their applications.

Reason 3: You attended training or used another computer and only locked or logged out of the computer.

• After using a computer in a training lab or a computer that is not your personal district computer, always restart the computer to break the connection.

If you are ever locked out of your EAD account, you can call the Help Desk to get your account unlocked or wait 15 minutes for the account to unlock itself.

The Digital Display Board (Promethean or Newline) Quick Reference Guide contains the following:

• User guides
• Links to helpful videos
• Instructions for requesting access
• Instructions for requesting replacement cords or other items.

Teachers and staff needing to access district WIFI while in administrative buildings should be connected to DISDWIFI.

• DISDWIFI provides access to the internet as well as other internal services and applications such as Oracle and PaperCut.

• Teachers and staff should not be connected to DISDGLOBAL and should disconnect and 'forget' that WIFI network on their district computers.

Students needing to access district WIFI while on campus should be connected to DISD-Global.

The Dallas Assessment Navigator is a cloud-based platform and will be used to administer and score district assessments online.

The purpose of the Dallas Assessment Navigator is to provide innovative learning solutions using assessments and analytics to help students gain mastery of knowledge and skills necessary for college and career readiness. Integrating within the 2nd grade - 12th grade environment, this platform delivers intuitive tools to monitor progress and facilitate data-driven decisions that improve student outcomes.

The Dallas Assessment Navigator also allows users to easily create a variety of item and assessment types. Students may take assessments online on the student portal or optionally use a scannable answer sheet. It can be integrated with most learning management systems as well as Google Classroom, so your assessments and reports can be launched right from your digital classrooms!

DAN: Student Portal [1 credit hour] Master how to best use DAN to support instruction and learning in your classroom. Learn how to leverage specific tools and features for the ultimate DAN student experience. From the student portal, check out the launchpad basics or customizing flipcards. Next, practice item bank assessment navigation and how students complete a score review. Lastly, explore the student history report for a digital data portfolio of academic achievement.

DAN: How to Create Assessments [2 credit hours] Ready to learn how to create DAN assessments? Gain the knowledge to create an Answer Key Only assessment using your assessment. In addition, learn about the items available to you using district item banks so you can simply choose which items you want to populate your test. This session will focus on the basics of creating an AKO and item bank assessment including recommended settings.

District launches new tool for safeguarding sensitive data.

Dallas ISD’s commitment to the safety and security of all team members and students extends into cyberspace, which is why the district is implementing a new level of security regarding sensitive data.

A Data Loss Prevention solution (DLP) safeguards critical sensitive data that are available within the district’s network to prevent unintended and unauthorized exposure. The DLP agent runs on team members’ computers to monitor the use and transmission of sensitive and protected data, such as student information, private health information, PII, etc. The definition of sensitive information is outlined in district regulations and included in the annual compliance videos.

If not, we recommend accessing your applications through the Dallas ISD portal to remain SSO enabled.

When you sign in to the Dallas ISD Portal, you are instantly signed in to all of your applications at once. You can switch between applications seamlessly, without having to sign in to each one separately.

The DISD Individual Attendance Report is used to view a summary of an individual student’s attendance for the date range selected in PowerSchool.

The Application Training and Support team's Training Schedule and Course Catalog for Fall 2023 are available in Cornerstone.

The attached course catalog is linked under Quick Links on the ATS website. Training schedules, including times and locations, are organized on each application’s resource page, i.e. PowerSchool Resources, Oracle EBS Resources, etc., by subject.
