Screenagers and Parent Conferences
On March 27th at 1 PM our high school and middle school students will be at Gilson to watch a powerful documentary, Screenagers, that explores the world of substance abuse on teenagers.
Screenagers Under The Influence: Addressing Vaping, Drugs, and Alcohol in the Digital Age, the third feature documentary in the Screenagers trilogy, delves into how the tech revolution has reshaped adolescence and its effects on substance use. The film debunks myths and depicts strategies parents and schools can use to encourage healthy decision-making, support teen mental health, set limits, and create healthy home environments. The film also includes many ways young people are using their wisdom and strength to help each other and themselves through this complicated terrain around substance use.
Another viewing of this movie will take place at Lind-Ritzville High School, in the commons, at 6 PM.
Parent Conferences are this week, starting on Thursday morning until 7:30 PM and starting up again on Friday at 8:30 AM to noon. If you have not received your appointment letter, please contact the high school office at 509-659-1720. Seniors will share their High School and Beyond Plans with their parents, and and our 9th - 11th grade students will share their post-secondary goals and receive updates on their performance in the classroom.
