This Spring's Math+ Infinity course is starting on Thursday - My favorite one! There are still about 10 available spots remaining.

Mrs. Hamilton challenged her students to an Easter art contest. Below, you will find the top 3 artists whose perfect images of what Easter means to them were selected as the winners!

I am so excited to announce that we will be adding Spanish to our middle school for the 2021-2022 school year! The Language Project will join us for three fifty minute periods two days per week to provide an immersive experience for our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The Language Project works with several of the Catholic schools in our diocese and has proven success in providing Spanish language instruction to kids of all ages!

We are excited to pilot this program in our middle school, with the hopes of adding on grade levels in the future. Mostly, we are incredibly grateful to a generous anonymous donor who has partnered with us to provide this amazing opportunity for our students!

Journey through the history of segregation in the Kansas City metro, primarily through its real estate. The tour is designed so that you can safely drive through the city at your own pace while hearing stories about each area you travel through.

Nathaniel Bozarth, ethnographer and host of the “Wide Ruled” podcast, narrates this 90-minute drive, bringing in interviews from several area students and notable city figures Sid Willens, Bill Tammeus, Mamie Hughes, and Margaret May.

“Dividing Lines” was created as a part of the Johnson County Library’s “Race Project KC.” The Library’s Civic Engagement Committee and Tanner Colby’s book “Some of My Best Friends are Black: The Strange Story of Integration in America” inspired much of the ongoing work of Race Project KC. This tour was made possible by support from Johnson County Library and the Kansas Humanities Council. It was produced by Brainroot Light & Sound. Written by Nathaniel Bozarth and Christopher Cook. The tour features music from Hermon Mehari and KC Jazz LP.

TRAINING CHANGES CONTINUE DUE TO COVID-19

• All live Protecting God’s Children for Adults (PGC) workshops continue to be suspended due to COVID-19.
• Employees and volunteers required to complete PGC are instead required to complete 2 online training modules in VIRTUS®:

• Protecting God’s Children® Online Awareness Session 3.0
• Mandated Reporters: Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse

• VIRTUS® has automated the assignment of these modules for all brand new VIRTUS® users.

If your child is attending "in person" classes, we ask you to complete a daily checklist each morning before leaving for school.

• My child has a temperature over 99 degrees.

• My child has had diarrhea in the last 48 hours.

• My child has a sore throat or flu-like s symptoms.

• My child has vomited or shown signs of nausea in the last 48 hours.

• My child, or someone in our family, has been exposed to Covid-19.

• My child has traveled somewhere currently on the travel ban list in the last 10 days.

• I have given my child fever reducers, cold medicine, or other over the counter meds to reduce symptoms of illness within the last 48 hours.

High-Risk Symptoms:

* New cough

* Difficulty breathing

* Loss of taste/smell

Moderate-Risk Symptoms:

* Fever (>99 degrees) or chills

* Congestion/runny nose

* Nausea/vomiting/diarrhea

* Sore throat

* Headache

* Muscle or body aches

Please note: If your child has 1 High Risk symptom OR 2 + moderate risk symptoms, he/she will be sent home and allowed to return after 48 hours symptom free and with a doctor's note stating he/she is safe to return to school.

These are very strict guidelines provided to us from the Clay County Health Department that we must follow in an effort to keep our students and staff safe and healthy. We appreciate you partnering with us to ensure we follow these policies and procedures each day!
