The Board of Trustees wants to inform you that we have reached another milestone in our search for the next Superintendent for Killeen Independent School District. The Board of Trustees conducted a series of interviews over the last week to identify our next leader.
As a result of these efforts, we have scheduled a meeting for Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. The purpose of the meeting is to consider naming a lone finalist to be the district’s next superintendent. The meeting will be streamed on KISD TV Channel 17 and the district’s website, www.killeenISD.org/livetv. As is the case with all published meetings, the public is invited to attend.
The district will host a meet and greet immediately following the meeting in the lobby of the administration building. This will allow the media and public to dialogue with the lone finalist. In addition, we will be distributing another communications piece to our KISD Family on Thursday morning immediately following the announcement that will provide additional insight into the lone finalist.
Texas law stipulates a district's school board must name the finalist for the superintendent position at least 21 days before the hire is made official.
