CBE News - 8th Grade Sandbagging
April 10, 2023
Great Relationships Produce Great Students
Sandbagging on Thursday, April 13th
Dear 8th Grade Parent/Guardian,
Officials from the Cass County Government have asked for community assistance with sandbag creation efforts in preparation for a flood of the Red River. As always, Fargo Public Schools is happy to participate in community service efforts and use this opportunity as a teachable moment for our students. Eighth grade students have been asked to create sandbags at the Cass County Highway Department - 1201 Main Avenue W, West Fargo, ND.
Carl Ben Eielson Middle School will be going to the Cass County Highway Department on Thursday, April 13th, 2023. The time blocks for sandbag creation will be 9:00-noon and 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Transportation will be provided by the school district for participants.
In order for a student to participate, parents/guardians must complete a permission slip and return it to the school office in advance. If permission is granted, please ensure your child is properly dressed in close-toed shoes, full pants, and clothes that may be stained or ruined. Participation is not mandatory; programming will be provided at the school for those who do not participate.
A paper copy of the permission form is being sent home with students today. It is also available online at www.fargo.k12.nd.us/flood.
If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
Sincerely,
Brad Franklin
