Keeping the Hockinson community in the loop!
Celebrating 2021 Hockinson Schools retirees
At the May 24 School Board Meeting, Superintendent Steve Marshall acknowledged the many contributions of three certificated staff members who are retiring at the end of the school year: Sally Drendel (HHS English/Language Arts); Shairn Villa (School Psychologist); and Linda Olson (HMS Teacher).
Thank you to Sally, Shairn and Linda! Adding up their combined years of service makes 80 years dedicated to serving students – 40 of them here in Hockinson. The impact these educators have had on our students cannot be so easily quantified. Congratulations on creating an important legacy that stretches far beyond the Hockinson community! Spring 2021 Sports Updates
The coaches and athletes of season 2 and 3 sports at Hockinson faced many difficulties with COVID-19 restrictions, but they were all extremely grateful to be able to be involved in the sports that they love and have a season at all. The athletes, including those from track, tennis, wrestling, and basketball, all made the best out of the situation, worked exceptionally hard, and demonstrated continuous growth in their skills. New records were set and athletes finished in top spots at district tournaments. Overall, our teams had a wonderful couple of seasons. Read about their achievements on our website. Go Hawks!
New bus service and transportation needs survey
We are excited to soon welcome First Student as our new transportation provider. First Student will be bringing new technology and services to Hockinson families. It also wants to deliver dependability and consistent pick up and drop off times. To this end, First Student is asking families to complete a brief ridership survey to help design efficient bus routes for the 2021-22 school year. Answers are not binding! We will accommodate any changes in your family’s transportation needs. Click here to complete the Google Form survey.
