I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend...The holiday spirit has definitely hit Marlow Elementary!

On Friday, we kicked off the "Have Yourself A Merry Marlow Christmas' calendar rocking out in our holiday look, and today, we saw lots of flannel for Fa-La-La-La-Flannel Day.

Tomorrow, we celebrate the 75th day of school! Show your spirit by wearing your Marlow Spirit Wear with Holiday Flare!!

Highlights last week included: Our KI classes celebrating the 70th day, Second grade enjoying a trip to Historic Johnson Farm, and of course, Friday kick-off December with some holiday spirit!

It has been evident over the last few weeks that we have officially entered into the cold season of the 2023-2024 school year, as we have seen higher than normal absentee rates.

Please make sure that you and your child are taking the proper steps necessary to stay healthy during this time of year. Washing your hands with soap and water, covering your nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing, keeping your distance from others who may be sick, and wiping down and disinfecting surfaces that may contain germs are just a few preventative steps you can take to ensure your children and your household remain as healthy as possible.

If your child is sick, we ask that you keep him/her at home until they have been fever free and/or vomit free for at least 24 hours. Thank you, in advance, for being proactive in these actions that help control the spread of germs and illnesses in our school. Again, if you have any questions, please feel free to call our school nurse, Amber Hart, here at school.

This Saturday, December 9th, the Town of Mills River is having its annual Santa Tour, and Glenn Marlow Elementary School is once again a stop on the tour. You can get more information at the website: http://millsriver.org/santa.

Families of all ages are encouraged to come out for Santa’s tour. Our PTO will be celebrating his arrival with crafts, cookies, and hot cocoa!!

They will be set up our front from 10:30 am until Noon, with Santa stopping through Marlow Elementary sometime around 11:00 (time is approximate and subject to change).

The Christmas lunch for our G3 - G5 parents is scheduled for Thursday, December 14th. Invitations will be coming home this week, so please complete the form and send it back in if you plan on joining us.

Just like we had for our Thanksgiving lunch, we need parent volunteers to help with lunch service and delivering lunch to our K-2 classrooms. A volunteer sign-up link will be coming out soon, so be on the lookout!

Join us for the sixth annual Marlow Staff Caroling! Our teachers and staff are loading up our big yellow sleigh and caroling throughout the Marlow District!

On Thursday December 14th we will be at the following locations:

-6:00pm Windsor Forest neighborhood

-6:20pm River Birch neighborhood (301 Whispy Willow Court)

-6:40pm Kingswood Apartments (off N. Hillcrest Road)

-7:00pm Riverstone Clubhouse

-7:30pm Glens at Aberdeen Clubhouse

-7:50pm Hollabrook Clubhouse

Come one, come alll! Whether you live in any of these areas or not, join us for a night of caroling and fun!!!
