We are an "A" school!
We are thrilled to share some incredible news with you – According to the 2022-23 Informational Baseline School Grades our school has achieved an A-rating for the academic year! This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of our entire school community: students, teachers, staff, and, of course, our supportive parents.
Receiving an A-rating is not just about a letter grade; it reflects the commitment we have made to academic excellence, life-skills, and creating a nurturing learning environment for our students.
Dedicated Teachers: Our teachers have shown exceptional commitment and passion for education. Their tireless efforts in creating engaging lesson plans, providing individualized support, and fostering a love for learning have been instrumental in our success.
Resilient Students: Our students deserve a round of applause for their dedication and determination. Their hard work, curiosity, and eagerness to learn have contributed significantly to achieving this milestone. We're incredibly proud of each and every one of them.
Supportive Parents: Your unwavering support, encouragement, and involvement in your child's education play a crucial role in their success. Your partnership with us, whether it's helping with homework, attending parent-teacher conferences, or volunteering, has made a meaningful difference.
Collaborative Efforts: Achieving an A-rating is a collective victory. It's the culmination of a collaborative effort between the school, the students, and their families. Together, we have created an environment where our children thrive academically and personally.
This accomplishment isn’t just a pat on the back; it’s a reminder of the potential we hold when we work together. It motivates us to continue striving for excellence and to set even higher goals for the future.
As we celebrate this achievement, we also recognize that there's always room for improvement and growth. We remain committed to providing the best possible education and opportunities for our students.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children's education. We look forward to continued success, collaboration, and the pursuit of excellence in the coming years.
SAC/SAF New date in January
Since we are an A rated school this year, SAC will be responsible for helping to decide how the A+ money will be distributed to staff. To meet the February 1st deadline, our January SAC meeting will occur on January 17 at 2:30 pm to develop the ballot for the A+ money. Please mark your calendars to attend!
FAST testing
There will be three progress monitoring (PM) windows for FAST:
• PM1 – because this administration occurs at the very beginning of the school year, it is designed to provide a baseline score so teachers can track student progress in learning the B.E.S.T. Standards from PM1 through PM3.
• PM2 – this administration will provide a mid-year score to compare to the baseline score from PM1.
• PM3 – this last administration will provide a summative score that will accurately measure student mastery of the B.E.S.T. Standards at the end of the school year.
The dates for PM 2 are happening now Dec 4 -22.
Students will be administered the assessment in the classroom with their teacher and it is taken online. Once the student has taken the test, the results will be available online at the Family Portal. Please contact your child's teacher if you have questions about testing.
PM1 and PM2 Scores
Each progress monitoring test covers the full “test blueprint,” meaning that all content expectations for that subject and grade level are assessed. Therefore, for PM1 and PM2, your student may not yet be at grade level; however, this does not necessarily indicate that a student is not on track to succeed. It is important for teachers and families to understand that score information is intended to provide baseline and mid-year results for PM1 and PM2, respectively. These results are for informational purposes only and should be used to identify areas that may need additional instruction and support. These results should not be considered student achievement designations.
Gate Procedures
Effective immediately, visitors will be screened at the gate by security and authorized by school administration. A member of the Security Staff will post at the gate and stop vehicles at the gate. When a visitor arrives between 8:30 am- 1:30 pm, the Security Staff Member will speak directly to the visitor to gather information on their visit and request authorization for admittance from school administration. Security will stop vehicles/pedestrian by greeting the individual(s), and asking for government-issued identification and purpose of visit.
Security will take note of the vehicle on a Visitor Log with relevant information. Security will relay visitor name and purpose of visit to school administration via radio, and asks for authorization.
Thank you for your assistance with the additional safety measures. Remember that during the instructional day, we want to limit disruptions to the learning environment, therefore we need to ensure that students come to school with the items needed for the day and limit dropping off or picking up early unless it is absolutely necessary.
Back to School Forms
Just a friendly reminder, if you did not complete your back to school forms please do so at your earliest convenience. The link is attached below. We will conduct our health screenings in January. If you do not want your child screened, you must complete the Back-to-School forms in order to opt out. The information in the Back To School Forms are vital to ensure we have all your emergency contact info.
ID Badges for students
All students are required to wear a photo ID badge at school. If a student loses their badge, we are able to print them a new one. They are allowed up to 3 printed badges, free of charge. However, on the fourth request and all subsequent requests, there will be a $5.00 charge.
