An amazing time in the capital
We were very impressed with the excellent behaviour of the children throughout the visit. Following their return to school the children had some great reflections on their time in the capital:
Merry:
My favourite part of the London residential was the Back to the Future show and the Houses of Parliament. The Back to the Future show was at the Adelphi Theatre and it was so realistic. At the end, the car started to levitate and it was truly awesome! Also, the Houses of Parliament were incredible. Every second I was there, I couldn’t believe I was watching actual MPs and even looking at Big Ben. One thing I will never forget is the Parliament workshop where I became ‘The Speaker.’ during our mini debate and could shout ‘ORDER’ when the class got too loud. I’m still shouting that in class today!
Nathan:
My favourite part of the London trip was the Science museum as it was very interactive and seeing everything made me excited. In Wonderlab my favourite activity was building 3D shapes out of 2D shapes because you could create so many different things. In the main part of the Science museum my favourite section was the space part as it was customised so you felt like you were in outer space and there was so much to see and learn.
Lola:
I really enjoyed the Globe Theatre because we got a tour of the theatre and learnt how the actors get ready for their performance and saw a rehearsal happen. We then had an acting workshop where we performed ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream.' A theatre director taught us how to move when we are performing to show emotion. We learnt to move forward when angry, side ways if we were thinking or considering what had been said and backwards if we were unsure or giving in.

Well done to everyone who entered.
Music Service Assembly
We were delighted last week to welcome the North Yorkshire Music Service for a fabulous afternoon of music. It was wonderful to see the look of delight on the faces of the children as they heard the collective sound of the instruments playing some familiar music from films and musicals. The Music Service were equally delighted to hear the children as they sang along enthusiastically and shared their enthusiasm for music. It is fabulous that so many of the children left the assembly inspired to learn to play an instrument. Should you wish to find out more about how your child can access peripatetic music lessons from the North Yorkshire Music Service, please visit the following website: www.northyorkshiremusichub.co.uk

School Update
It has been another busy and very eventful term.
We have explored with children how Easter is a time of reflection, hope and celebration. For Christians, the full Easter period lasts for a long time as Easter officially starts with Lent on Ash Wednesday, 46 days before Easter Day. It officially ends 49 days after Easter Day with the Christian Festival of Pentecost or Whitsun, when Christians remember that God sent his Holy Spirit to help Christians. So Easter is a very busy time!
I hope that this Easter you get some quality family time, have opportunity to share Easter traditions and take a moment to reflect and consider the true meaning of Easter and the hope that it brings.
Have a wonderful Easter break and we look forward to seeing you again on Monday 17th April 2023
Thanks for all your support
