October 31st - Super Hero Day!
For Halloween, students need to leave costumes at home. The only students able to bring costumes to school are our Kindergartens, so they can wear them for our annual Kinder Parade. If your Kinder plans on participating, they can bring their costume in their backpack and change into it before the parade.
October 31st is an assembly and spirt day. Since the focus for this month is self-awareness, our dress up day is Super Hero Day!
Rules around dress up days:
No masks, face paint, weapons, gore or guts.
Picture Day
Picture day is this Wednesday! Your student has hopefully brought home a picture packet with information on how to order photos. If they have not, please reach out to the office or their teacher.
Earthquake Drill This Week
This week, our school will conduct an Earthquake drill. We will be participating in the Great Oregon Shakeout. We cannot share the exact date and time of the drill. The purpose of an earthquake drill is to practice the response to an earthquake in our area. The drill will be initiated by a PA announcement that we are practicing an earthquake drill and shaking has started. Staff will prepare students for the drill and support individual students as needed. Students will be prompted to DROP, COVER and HOLD on until the “shaking” has stopped. Classes that are outside of the school will be instructed to move away from buildings, trees, and powerlines and then get low to the ground covering their head with their arms. Once the “shaking” has stopped the drill will end. Learn more about safety drills and the Standard Response Protocol on our website. If you have any questions, please contact the main office.
Fall Conferences
Conferences this year will be held on November 20th and 21st.
In the coming weeks, you will be receiving an email from your student's teacher regarding conference sign-up.

SafeOregon. Feel Safe. Be Safe.
All kids should feel safe and be safe at school. SafeOregon gives kids, parents, schools, and their communities a way to confidentially or anonymously report safety threats or potential acts of violence. Together, we'll empower people to speak out and spark change. One tip can save a life.
