Easter Prayer
Lord God,
You loved this world so much,
That you gave your one and only Son,
That we might be called your children too.
Lord, help us to live in the gladness and grace
Of Easter Sunday, everyday.
Let us have hearts of thankfulness
For your sacrifice.
Let us have eyes that look upon
Your grace and rejoice in our salvation.
Help us to walk in that mighty grace
And tell your good news to the world.
All for your glory do we pray, Lord, Amen.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and relaxing break. We are now heading towards the close of school. Time seems to have gone by very quickly.
I am happy to announce that we will be sealing the southern wall of the school building and repainting the whole school building along with the preschool building this summer. It is exciting times here at the school. I am happy that we are able to do such a project. We are also looking to replace all the windows on the Miller Ave. side soon, but we need to raise funds for this. The estimate for the window replacement will be around $400,000. When this project is completed, we will have quieter classrooms along with keeping the heat within the building. Currently we are losing so much heat due to very thin glass.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Sophia Avelar (Grade K) for being a winner in the K-2 Missions Art Contest. Her art work will be sent to Washington DC to be judged along with other art work from other dioceses. It is a great honor for Sophia to represent the San Francisco Archdiocese.
Spring Musical and Art Show
This year we have had to change our Spring Musical to Friday, May17th at 3pm. The main reason for the change is that our music teacher works on Fridays with our students. It was difficult to get evening bookings with the church. The art show which, coincides with the musical, will now take place on the Friday from 2:15 to 4:30 in the cafeteria. Parents can come early on the Friday to see the art before heading across to the church for the musical.
Fun Run 2019
As you are aware by now, preparations for the Fun Run are now in progress and the actual run will be on Monday, May 13th. We encourage as many parents as possible to join us on that day. The classes will be staggered to complete the run on that day. As soon as I have that information I will pass to you. Our goal is to raise $40,000. Your child received the information package yesterday and you should be receiving emails from the organizers.
8th Grade Washington D.C. Trip
It’s hard to believe that within two weeks the 8th graders will be heading to Washington D.C. as the culmination of their social studies/ history study of the United States. We wish all a wonderful trip.
God Bless,
Vincent Riener

SLE RECOGNITION
Earth Day of Action
The seventh grade class had the opportunity to make a difference by participating in the Pacifica Beach Coalition’s annual Earth Day of Action. The Earth Day of Action is an event that has over 800 volunteers that team up to remove litter and restore native landscape along the San Mateo County coast. Thousands of volunteers of all ages gear up with gloves and buckets to join the hands-on action at organized sites from Daly City to Tunitas Creek, on beaches and along highways and streets from Highway 35 to the coastline.
The seventh grade group from All Souls Catholic School helped with restoring planters in the parking lot of the Pacifica Community Center. The group did everything from pulling weeds to spreading mulch. The site coordinator was very grateful for our assistance that morning. After the two hour clean up time, students and families participated in the EcoFestival at Linda Mar State Beach. There were a lot of different exhibits and presentations on how to promote, inspire, and learn important ways on how to protect our Ecosystem.

BOX TOPS
Box Tops for Education was started by General Mills in California back in 1996, after the company decided they wanted to create a program to help support education and benefit America’s schools. All Souls has benefitted from this program over the years, receiving sports equipment, microscopes, and a variety of other educational items.
You can help by clipping the Box Tops off approved products you already have in your pantry. You don't need to clip the actual product UPC — just the Box Tops logo will do. From frozen foods to produce and household cleaning products, there are literally hundreds of opportunities to help, and each Box Top is worth 10 cents. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it adds up fast.
There are so many participating companies! Participating companies and product lines include General Mills, Green Giant, Totino's, Pillsbury, Old El Paso, Ziploc, Hefty, Juicy Juice, Betty Crocker and many more. For a full list of eligible items check the Box Tops for Education website at https://www.boxtops4education.com/earn .
