• The jazz bands are in full swing at RHS. Recently, Jazz I performed at the Grand Living Retirement Community in mid-November and will be touring the local middle schools on December 7th alongside the swing choir and chamber orchestra. Soon, be on the lookout for information regarding our annual fundraiser, Jazz & Pancakes on January 21st.

• Concert Band auditions for second semester have completed. Congrats to all who will be performing in this group beginning in Janurary.

• All-State Band auditions are right around the corner! If your child is planning on auditioning on Janurary 14th, please check in with them on their progress. This is a very prestigious event and should not be taken lightly. If students need extra help, have them reach out to either director to schedule a time for lessons.

Students are required to wear concert black attire.

The requirements for attire are as follows of two options:

- white shirt (button up), black bow tie (purchased either online or in store), black dress pants, black dress shoes, tux coat

- dresses (knee length or longer) with black tights OR dress slacks, black dress shirts/polos and items of the like are advised

If you are interested in volunteering during a concert, we will need help selling and taking tickets. Contact Teresa Parlet (605-366-8050).

ALL band parents are HIGHLY encouraged to attend the monthly Band Parents Association meetings! The RHS BPA provides the fundraising dollars and volunteer support that are ESSENTIAL to helping our childresn have sucessful band experiences. BPA meetings are held monthly and are open to ALL BAND families. Show your support for your student and the entire band program at RHS! We have MANY leadership roles to fill for next year.

The next BPA meeting will be January 18th @ 6:00 pm at the Prairie West Library.
