Quarter 2 is Under Way!
With Quarter 1 now officially done and Quarter 2 under way we are continuing to reassess how we can best meet your student's needs and look forward to connecting with families during our Conference times on Thursday and Friday.
Accessing Quarter 1 Grades:
- When Logged into PowerSchool - students and parents should be able to access Qtr 1 Grades both through the "Grade History" and "Graduation Progress" Navigation Tabs.
Parent-Teacher Conferences - Family Engagement Days:
- This year parent teacher conferences will be done via phone and/or Zoom/Google Meet.
- Parents/Guardians can now sign up for conferences through our Power PTC system.
Scheduling Your Conferences:
1. Log into your Parent PowerSchool account.
2. Click on the small box with an arrow, located on the upper right-hand corner.
3. Click on the PowerPTC page link.
4. Click on the Conference Schedule.
5. Select the date you would like to schedule your appointment.
6. Select a starting time for your appointments.
7. If you would not like to attend conferences with certain courses, uncheck the box under the Schedule column.
8. Click Build Your Schedule Now!
9. Finally, click Print Schedule to create a hard copy of your parent-teacher conference schedule.
10. If you are scheduling for more than one student, you can switch the active student you are scheduled for by clicking on the Select a Student link from the left-hand menu. Scheduled phone or video conference times are 8 minutes long. Your promptness for scheduled appointments is greatly appreciated.
For families that do not have an email address, internet /computer access, or miss the sign-up window period of October 21st β October 29th, you may call 479-4221 for help in setting up a parent PowerSchool account, and getting scheduled.

Post-Secondary Planning Night available for ALL students
Post-Secondary Planning Night (Life After West Valley) has been postponed to Wednesday, October 28th.
Topics include: FAFSA, Financial Aid, Campus Life, Admissions Process, College Ready Tips, Military, Trade Unions, Workforce, NCAA Eligibility, Scholarships, and MORE! We hope to "see" you there!

IBEW Apprenticeship Info Meeting for Juniors & Seniors
- On November 10th we will be hosting a ZOOM meeting for high schoolers who are interested in learning about our apprenticeship programs. We will give a short presentation and then open the meeting to questions. Joining us will be two current apprentices who can speak about their experiences and answer questions. This meeting will be geared for 11th and 12th graders. We think this meeting might last from 1-2 hours.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols
Current Risk Level = HIGH
GENERAL SAFETY PROTOCOLS:
- All visitors, students and staff in the building must wear a mask and maintain social distancing at all times.
- The student daily decision tree is posted below, but students should not come to school if they have any COVID-19 symptoms, have traveled outside of Alaska or have had close contact with a positive COVID-19 case within the last 14 days, or has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 10 days.
- At the bottom of this email, Dr. Anne Zink explains in a video the different between quarantine and isolation in case you've wondered what those terms mean.
- If you have any questions or concerns - please call our school nurse, Corinne Roe (x46540).
INDOOR ACTIVITIES:
- At the High Risk Level, no spectators are allowed for indoor events
ALL ACTIVITIES:
- For all activities, both indoor and outdoor, all spectators must wear masks covering nose and mouth at all times while at the activity.
