Summer is Here!
Wrapping up 2022-2023
"Some of the best memories are made in flip flops"
Dear FUEL (& future FUEL) families,
Thank you again for another wonderful school year at FUEL!
As we head into the summer months, please note that I will be available via email intermittently throughout the summer and that weekly school communications will resume the week of August 21st (with a school start date of Monday, August 28th). Mrs. Keefe and I will both send an August welcome back update with important dates and reminders in mid-August.
Save the date now for our Popsicles with Principals event on Thursday, August 24th from 5-7 pm on the FUEL playground! For our current 5th grade families, please know that communications will be coming from Ferndale Middle School for you in the summer months!
Please check out the links below for important flyers and reminders below.
Looking forward to seeing you all in August! Enjoy your summer!

🍓 Summer Reading Reminders🍓
Summer is fast approaching and so is Ferndale Area District Library’s Summer Reading challenge for kids of all ages. We’re excited to offer this fun and educational program to keep children engaged and motivated to read throughout the summer!
There will be a unique challenge for each age group this summer, each with its own activities, raffle tickets, and prizes! No library card required.
- Early Readers (ages 0-4)
- Kids (ages 5-12)
- Teens (ages 13-18)
- There’s also a challenge for adults (ages 18+) - that means you!
Families can learn more here about each of the challenges. We’ll be using Beanstack again to keep track of the challenges. If they don’t have a Beanstack account already, they can create one today, and sign up for summer reading when registration opens June 17th!
Participation in the Ferndale Library program will also count for the FUEL Summer Reading Challenge! We look forward to hearing all about your reading adventures in the fall!
And - check out this awesome activity for summer "boredom" from Ms. Jenelle! "I'm Bored Jar"
