Rayonier Hosts Career Tech Agriculture Educators and Biology
Nassau County Career Tech Agriculture Educators and Biology teachers recently spent the day boots on the ground with Rayonier. Rayonier is invested in Nassau County’s education and workforce development, working with the science behind trees. Their investment in teaching teachers, students, and families the sustainable practices, the science behind them, and the career opportunities available in Nassau County. Teachers started their day learning about career pathways and the history of Rayonier in Nassau County. As the day went on, teachers could see all of the opportunities available for students to work in Nassau County. They then traveled to the woods to see timber stands harvesting operations and learned how sustainable practices in Nassau County are supporting our local economy. Teachers spent the afternoon at Rayonier headquarters doing hands-on activities to take back to the classroom. Teachers learned how cellulose, grafting, and selection are imperative to sustainable forestry. As we prepare our students for CTE, Nassau County Educators are grateful for our community partners to prepare our students for the working world.
Word Form of Numbers
During small group math with Mrs. Bright at Yulee Primary School, students enhanced their understanding of identifying word form for three-digit numbers. The class incorporates a fun and exciting teaching method by introducing sticky hands into the lesson. This innovative approach allowed students to be exposed to subject matter more engagingly and interactively.

One Blood Workshop
West Nassau High School CNA students went to a One Blood Workshop to learn about blood donations and how to run successful blood drives.
Science Stations of Excitement
Students in Mrs. LiCausi’s Fifth-grade science class at Emma Love Hardee participated in science stations centered on learning to use science equipment. The students learned to use tools such as microscopes, balances, and spring scales. They also practiced measuring volume with graduated cylinders and using pipettes to transfer liquid. All students were actively engaged and enjoyed this hands-on way of learning about the tools scientists use. It was a great way to increase the students' excitement for the subject of science.
