usually have free school meals.
Years 7, 9 and 11 will leave at 12.15 - Year 7 and 9 from the North Gate, and Year 11 from the Main Gate.
Years 8 and 10 will leave at 12.30 - Year 8 from the North Gate and Year 10 from the Main Gate.
We wish all our families a restful and happy holiday season.

A Year of Reading at Lister
Last week we launched the Reading Challenge at Lister. All students have a reading age test to show us how advanced they are in reading. Reading is the main skill that will affect students’ results in the final GCSEs and will continue to have a pronounced impact on results throughout their time at school. Students are sorted into bands, depending on their reading ability and there is a reading list of books from the library that matches the right level of challenge for their reading level. Please encourage your child to go to the library and choose a book or two that will help them make progress over the Christmas holidays. Reading for 20 minutes every day will help elevate students’ grades into the top 90% within their ability category.
