FAFSA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the form you need to fill out to get any financial aid from the federal government to help pay for college. Each year, over 13 million students who file the FAFSA get more than $120 billion in grants, work-study, and low-interest loans from the U.S. Department of Education.
Lots of states and colleges also use the FAFSA to determine which students get financial aid—and how much they’ll get.

AP COMPUTER SCIENCE FEMALE DIVERSITY AWARD
According to the data, female students who take AP Computer Science Principles (CSP) in high school are more than five times as likely to major in computer science in college, compared to female students of similar background and academic preparation who do not take AP CSP. The study also finds that AP CSP serves as a stepping stone for students to take other advanced STEM coursework. Providing female students with access to computer science courses is critical to ensuring gender parity in the industry’s high-paying jobs, and to driving innovation, creativity, and representation. We are proud to be recognized in the category of AP Computer Science Principles (CSP) for having 50% or higher female representation in our AP CSP class, and we continue to strive to encourage our young women to explore career options in Computer Science and STEM fields.
If you or your child is interested in taking AP Computer Science Principles in the 2023-2024 school year please have them speak to their counselor about this amazing opportunity!
