HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS

Entry fee for boys/girls basketball and wrestling: $3.00 per person
GIRLS WINTER TRACK
The girls' winter track and field team competed at the NJSIAA Group 4 Sectional Championships this past weekend. The girls did an outstanding job. The team had 11 girls PRs and five ladies move onto the state championships.
Michaela Schlemo ran a 5:13.25 placing 3rd in the 1600 meters. This is her indoor PR!
Kiki Schlemo came in 3rd and Paige Pacquing came in 6th in the 3200 meter race.
Our 4x400 relay placed 6th. Congrats to Kiki Schlemo, Samantha Reed, Taylor Rooney, and Amari Pinkett!
All of these ladies will advance to the state championships!
BOYS WINTER TRACK
The Boys Track Team competed at the Group 4 SJ Championships this past weekend.
Senior Mike Simeon won the Shot Put and Senior Christopher Manzo placed in 2nd place in the 800 Meter Run.
GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL
Saturday 2/3
EHT lost to Manchester 44-48. Averie Harding led EHT with 20 points. EHT's scoring was rounded out by Mariah Newman 9 points, Ava Kraybill 7 points, Lyla Brown 4 points, Alina Gonzalez 2 points, and Katie Keenan 2 points. EHT's record 17-3
Wednesday 2/7
EHT defeated Cedar Creek 55-28 for the program's first win ever in the CAL tournament. EHT had a balanced scoring attack with 9 girls scoring:
Lyla Brown 12 points, Alina Gonzalez 11 points, Ava Kraybill 10 points, Averie Harding 6 points, Katie Keenan 5 points, Kaitlyn Wiggins 4, Skyler Wood 3 points, Mariah Newman 2 points, Caitlyn Harding 2 points.
EHT improved to 18-3. The Eagles move on to quarterfinals where they will face Middle Twp on Saturday 2/10 5:oopm @ Middle Twp.
BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL
Boys Basketball fell to Hammonton in the CAL tournament on Wednesday 49-65. The Eagles were lead in scoring by Jayden Dixon 16pts and Bradley Smith 14pts. The boys now await their seeding in the state tournament which begins on Wednesday, February 21.
WRESTLING
Cami Bird and Kylie Wright both went undefeated at the Eastern Girls Jamboree. On senior night, the boys won 46-18 over Oakcrest.
SWIMMING
The state tournament for boys and girls swimming starts on Monday, Feb 12th at EHTHS. Girls at 2:00, Boys at 3:30.

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL SPRING SPORTS IS MARCH 1ST.

· Physical Exams
· All Exams must be submitted digitally though your online registration.
· No hard copies, emails or faxes will be accepted.
· Re-Cert packets and COVID Forms are now part of the registration question/process. No hard copies needed.

It can take up to 7 days for exams to be reviewed and for the student athlete to be cleared to attend tryouts and/or begin practice. REGISTER NOW!

MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS
ALDER GIRLS BASKETBALL
Alder girls basketball beat Ocean City in a very close game in overtime 28 to 27. The entire game was back and forth but Maddie Stickel’s defense was key to send the game into overtime while Payton Crowell scored the winning point on the foul line. Marissa Baxter also contributed to the win by scoring 9 points, Laila Muniir scored 8 points, Payton Crowell scored 6 points, Gianna Galego scored 3 points and Maddie Stickel scored 2 points! The team’s record is now 12-3.
Next up, the girls play William Davies at Alder on Monday Feb 12 at 3:45 pm and then take on Fernwood at EHTHS on Tuesday Feb 13 at 5:00 pm.
ALDER BOYS BASKETBALL
Alder vs. Upper Township- Tuesday, February 6th 2024
Resiliency has been the theme of the season for the Alder Boys Basketball team. After an upsetting loss on Monday, the boys came back the very next day against the very same team, and the Eagles defeated the Ospreys by an impressive score of 59 to 28! Equally as impressive, 9 different players contributed to the scoring, including Brian Little who led all scorers with 23 points! Great team win for the Eagles!
Winter 2 sports include Co-ed Volleyball and Unified Basketball. DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION FOR WINTER 2 SPORTS IS FEB 15. Practices will begin February 21. REGISTER NOW FOR WINTER 2!
