This week is National School Counseling Week! At SMS, our school counselors are amazing leaders who make an impact through serving the needs of our students daily! We are grateful for all that they do. Please take time out this week and thank your grade-level school counselor.

Friday, our PTO is quite busy, and we appreciate them! We will have "Souper Bowl" teacher lunch, and that evening we have a school dance! Please make sure that your student has indicated that he/she will attend through the link in Canvas by the end of Tuesday. This will give us a good idea of how many students will be present along with the number of snacks we will need. Sixth graders will have their own time for the dance from 4:00-6:00 pm, and seventh and eighth will be from 6:30-8:30. No outside guests are allowed, and students must be in appropriate "dress-down day" attire which they are allowed to wear to school all day. White shirts are suggested since it is a "Glow Dance!" For Dress Down Day, please remember:

1. Shirts and tops must be school-appropriate and not revealing.

2. Jeans are allowed during dress down days. Jeans may be any color or pattern but must not have holes or tears in them of any kind. No leggings.

3. Dress down clothing cannot have inappropriate writing on it, fit appropriately, and must not interrupt the safety of the learning environment.
