We’re happy to share a new edition of The Chieftain Chronicle with you this week! There is a lot of club coverage along with some other fun articles by our students.
Class Projects
Spanish II: "El Día de los Muertos"
This week in Mrs. Sampietro's Spanish II class, students made beautiful and colorful masks to celebrate the Day of the Dead. They also learned about cultural aspects of this celebration. “El Día de los Muertos” is celebrated mostly in Mexico on November 1 and 2.
Poetry 12 & French Exchange
Some of the French exchange students presented to Ms. Murphy's Poetry 12 classes. They covered everything from the 17th century fabulist Jean de La Fontaine to contemporary French rap, informing us about both the content and form of poetry across these genres. It was a wonderful opportunity for cross-cultural connections. For instance, they described the influence of Arthur Rimbaud’s poetry on American musicians and poets, including Patti Smith and Bob Dylan.
Art Studio I
🎃 This was a fun 1-week project in Art Studio I to introduce students to some basic clay construction techniques. And Mrs. Evans is dressed for Halloween 😁
